Character boost worth it?

Hi,

I want to tell you guys a question that I have struggled with; ”Is buying a character boost worth it, if you don’t want to spend all the time on leveling but still get a new character?”

I hate leveling but want to get a new character, I have decided that I want to go with rogue, hunter or priest. I’m a m+ player and also likes pvp and raiding. So this is like two questions. Worth buying a character boost and which class then?

Thanks! <3

How much money do you earn per hour working?
Just compare hours worked and money spent / hours spent leveling

If you make the money to buy the boost faster by working overtime for example you save time and money by going to your real job and then just buying the boost.

Time is money

This is just my opinion… but I did do the boost and I felt no connection to that character at all… and then ended up abandoning it… I much prefer to level them myself.

It doesn’t even take long to level.

I totally despise leveling and I am maining a boosted character.

Yes.

Rogue or a tank.

PS.: If you buy a copy of BFA and register it on a second account you get a battle.net-accountbound(!) boost. It’s not linked to your WoW account.

I can strangely relate to this.
even tho my DK is boosted (technically during my 11 year break i gave the game a try for a month or two when legion launched and i came back 2 days before it launched, lvled random rogue char to 50 or 70 or smth and had no time to lvl DK so just boosted :joy: ). I just cant like character if its boosted - my lock i boosted has just one use - making cloth stuff for me :joy: (F voidelf)

To be honest it depends on how much you hate leveling, especially leveling a priest through dungeons is IMO the most boring thing I’ve ever done in WoW.

I would not.
Leveling also allows you to somewhat… ‘train’ the class. See if you really like it.
I can understand. It is annoying to level. Long. But it is rewarding.
Plus, you really get to like your character. And that’s worth it.

A character boost is never worth it. That is if it’s a class you’ve never played before.

You feel strange to play a class straight from level 110 and not understand the play style like you can learn from levelling it.

Yes, you learn so much from doing easy content with half a specc…

Rogue doesn’t even get FoK till level 70(?)

I am afraid I learned nothing shooting 12 white, grey, green and red boars over and over again :frowning:

(Not to mention healer-classes…)

On January 1st this year I started a new realm and deleted a load of chars. I then set a goal of getting 10 to 80. I actually levelled to 81 with each and cus those dungeons are pretty quick to pop I levelled to 15 questing and then to 81 simply doing dungeons. It basically only took a couple of days to do each so in no time I had 10 new chars at 81.

I then picked one at a time and levelled to 120 item level 340. At three complete I moved back to my old realm and started levelling two of my other characters which were on 45. In a couple of days they were 100plus and I have stopped as I just levelled 6 characters in Tera from 60 to 65 to play the new levels there from 65 to 70.

I’m a levelling nutter. Its all I do. Cata/Pandaria took a day, WoD a day, Legion a day and so too BfA. It then takes a day for me spamming dungeons for item level 340. I actially have three boosts on my account that I have never used for fresh Level 100 and 110 chars that I just refuse to use.

I find that doing many chars as opposed to one and spreading this makes for a fun experience. And while I am waiting for dungeons to pop I watch YouTube videos and listen to music and do other things. Slows down at around 75 but if you get the Timewalking to pop while levelling that helps especially getting the currency to buy gear to get to entry level for the next expansion as soon as possible.

You need obviously the rep from BfA or friendly status to continue but I guess you knew that anyway. Only the once thankfully. I tend to build my Garrisonin WoD and do get the artifact weapon in Legion but other than that I do no Outland/Lich/Cata/Pandaria/WoD/Legion or BfA questing. I only level the first zones to Level 15 … usually when I kill the trees in Eversong and then I never return to questing.

Just that it saves you a lot of time buying the boost. BUT… the game is fundamentally the same thing what ever you do so just go bonkers with it and instead of levelling one do a whole realm. I had kinda finished by the end of Jan and was onto my other realm.

Just a few words of warning that will run shivers down any levellers nightmare … Culling of Stratholm, Oculus, WoD and Motherload. And those annoying light balls… the eternal light balls… They are the only things I hate about it. So go for it and be a ‘Hero’ or a ‘Champion’ for like over and over. You kinda so get sick of dungeon bosses telling you how they are going to rip your heart out and then die instantly. So funny. Much better than paying for it just for the dreadful boss one liners ’ You call that an attack !!! Ughhhhhhhhhhhhh ’

In the end its all Warcraft from zero to hero… just a state of mind. Point, click, kill, rinse, repeat… what else do you do.

Think your smart with sarcasm? I’m not impressed.

Only you can judge if you want to skip levelling. I’ve boosted several characters but i will have to level some for heritage even though I hate the process and find it dull to repeat what ive done so many times before.

Boosting is fine. I personally don’t/haven’t so far, but it’s really a time issue. Even at current leveling speeds it’s a pain to level something up AGAIN. I’m struggling with my monk, first character I’ve rolled since wotlk, who’s 42. Then again, I’m not in a hurry as I have plenty to do with 7 120s already.

Completely up to you. If you have but one 120 and want another one, I’d go for it.

As for which class Rogue is, as you are aware, the M+ king. So that’s your answer. I haven’t really EVER gotten into rogues, so you might want to test all three at 110 before deciding on one.

Personal preference. I have 2 levelled chars and 2 boosted. I use the levelled more than the boosted but either is fine really.
