Hello!
Some ideas in this topic might not be everyones cup of tea, but keep in mind that this will most likely never be a reality anyways.
So. I have enjoyed most of the allied races so far. I think they give a bit more variety in the game. But there is one question about the standard undead race i have been wondering about. Why can undeads only be dead humans?
This question has been on my mind since the “Battle for Lordaeron” quests were I saw both tauren undeads and orc undeads along with the standard human undeads. (Both cows and orcs was just skeletons of those races without any flesh). And here comes my opinion that a lot of you might not agree with…
In my own opinion, undeads should have the option to choose between all current races. I would love to play as a undead orc, tauren, dwarf or even a disgusting little rotten gnome, or any other of the standard races! I would even like to see some of the allied races as an undead option. We have already seen undead zandalari trolls so why not?
Before any of ya’ll comment with “Why not play Death Knight?”. First of all, in my opinion DKs are insanely boring to play. I do understand that making this an option in the game would give horde A LOT more playable races than alliance. But so what? Only having human corpses as undead feels a bit off doesn’t it?
This is just something I believe could add a little more flavor to the undead race in general. Down below I will write down some other character customizations that could be added, keep in mind these are not just for undead.
Things that could be added:
For undeads:

Undead option to choose between dead versions of all playable races.

Options for those playable races like, missing bodyparts (obviously not arms and legs or even head, more like eyes, nose, jaw ect, standard undead things).

Posture option to fix neck and back. Right now the head goes inside a lot of shoulder transmogs and that triggers me.

I saw a (chinese?) version of the undeads once. It was with all the flesh still on. It basically looked like a little less decayed undead. This would be a nice option to have in game on all regions.
Not undead related changes:
- Posture option for worgens. These poor dogs need some help with their broken back. I understand that a lot of people might like the broken backs of the worgen. But personally I want an option for the males to stand up straight like the females. (I think I saw this on a fan art with Darius Crowley and it looked awesome).
As most of you have figured out already this post is targeted at the undeads. I don’t mind most of the races and most of them are actually good already.
But seriously. We are going into the Shadowlands next expansion. I don’t see why other races could not be undead (not including DKs, and even DKs got a lack of customization on a lot of the races). I think it’s pretty cool that Blizzard gave allied races a chance of being DKs because it actually would make sense.
As i stated in the beginning of the post. These are my opinions, and these things will most likely never be implemented into the game, so either give me a comment with something you would like to see in game / your opinion on the matter or move on. No need for hate ^-^
