Character gets stuck running when using Right Mouse Button (Mac M1 Pro + G502 X Lightspeed)

System:

  • MacBook Pro M1 Pro (macOS Sequoia)
  • Logitech G502 X Lightspeed (via dongle)
  • WoW Retail (latest patch)

Issue:
When I press and hold Right Click to rotate the camera and use Left Click or movement, my character occasionally gets stuck running forward or rotating, even after I release all mouse buttons.

Details:

  • This happens most frequently when using Left + Right Click together (classic move/rotate combo), but sometimes even with Right Click only.

  • When stuck, the character keeps running or turning indefinitely, as if a button is still pressed.

  • Pressing CMD+TAB (switching window focus) unsticks the character instantly, every time.

    • As a workaround, I now double-tap CMD+TAB when it happens.
  • I also noticed slight improvement after turning Keyboard Settings → Key Repeat Rate to OFF in macOS.

What I’ve tried:

  • Switched mice (used G502 X Lightspeed and Razer Naga Trinity) → same issue.
  • Disabled Logitech G HUB → no effect.

Conclusion:
This appears to be a macOS + WoW input handling bug, possibly related to how mouse button release events are processed on M1/M2/M3 chips.

I have the same issue and the game is absolutely unplayable. It only started recently but I was on a break since march so I can’t tell how it changed between macos and wow releases. Something is completely off. My Logitech G502 lightspeed has the same problems when used with the receiver and with the cable. Its worth noting I’m also using an external display. This was reported to be causing issues with mouse according to some posts I found while looking for a solution.

In essence autorun gets toggled on and stuck. The direction varies. On top of that the cursor can disappear randomly. Sometimes it’s completely unresponsive and I have to restart wow.

I dont have autorun bound to any key
Hold two mouse buttons to move is not an option anymore but it feels like that’s what’s happening
