Character is turning slowly

So, I encountered an issue a few days ago where my character, specifically death knight as I haven’t noticed the issue on any other character yet, is turning very slowly if I just use my wasd keys. If I simply use those keys to run forward and turn, the character runs in a HUGE circle instead of the small one that is normal. This is with and without a mount. I thought, maybe it’s a buff or something doing it, but no. If I relog it fixes it, but I feel like I shouldn’t have to relog to fix it.

Any help is appreciated

From whatI understand this is caused by some quest in the Siren Isle, though I don’t think even Blizzard knows specifics. If you know or have suspicion what/how to trigger this you might want to report it using in-game bug reporting tool.

You can fix the issue by issuing following command:
/console turnspeed 180

180 is, as far I know, the default value. You can adjust it slower or faster if you desire.

The console command worked. It fixes it, thank you!

However, I do not have any Siren Isle quest on any of my characters, so don’t think that’s what’s causing it.

Consistently caused by the mech suit.

Maybe not immediately, but you will definitely notice it by the next time you restart the game.

We’ve had a discussion on this issue a few weeks ago, which can be found here.

That’s correct. Thank you!

If you remember what may have caused this issue for you, please do report a bug in-game. Any information on how to reproduce a bug (if you have any) can be very helpful in fixing this kind of bug.

It has been mentioned and figured out some 20 times by now since that content first appeared live.

The issue in question here is that the mechsuit enforces a TurnSpeed of 60 while using its machine gun conal ability. It should reset to the default 180 while the ability is not active and you have left the suit, and it does…but not in the proper way. Your character will have your expected turning speed but the client variable itself will still erroneously have 60 as its value. This value then gets saved the moment you log out or exit the game (without a crash, anyway), which you will then encounter on your next login.

The solution is simple, but for each person who will seek solution themselves you 5 others who are not so very tech savvy or suffer from extreme case of social anxiety to even ask in chat. Come on, do something about it already.

Boreon specifically mentioned that they have no done this quest, which is what I’m quoting, and responding to.

A fresh character can complete the full storyline in one sitting, in less than an hour and at the same time they’ll be able to collect all of the special gems and cap out their ring at 658 ilvl. Naturally the pool of players affected will be massive.

Now they weren’t very specific on which quest was or wasn’t completed but there is a storyline criteria where the nuke remote and mech suit need to be clicked and seeing completed achievements, but by looking at the armory profile I guarantee they must have interacted with it at some point (almost a full month ago for the first time).

The thing about the bug is that the turnspeed slowdown is applied to the account as whole, on all characters. You complete your island run today, log off and in two days your other character is rotating very slowly all of a sudden.

It’s not the quest directly that causes the bug, but instead the choice of a weapon after entering the storm phase - in this case the mech suit. You don’t need to pick it but being the obvious best choice, everyone will do so.

As of today, the bug is still happening. Tried the Mechsuit too during my discovery of the Siren Isles and now all of my characters can barely turn right and left using the keyboard… It’s definitly what Ultimutt said, the character doesn’t return to normal after entering the Mechsuit and it affects the whole account. Please, consider fixing this asap, it’s really big a lot of people are getting affected.
