Character names

So, I got, probably a stupid question :stuck_out_tongue:

But, why can we not give all of our characters on a certain realm the same name?

I am really bad at thinking of names for my characters, so that’s why I was thinking, what would be the downside of that? Maybe I’m missing something really obvious, but still.

I can only log in with one character at a time anyway, and no matter what character I would log in with, people would always know it is me.

So yeah, that’s my little question :stuck_out_tongue:

How would it handle the data on each character. I guess if it worked like your bnet ID instead it would work. You chose a name that appears for all characters in game.

Might make raid invites and raid team compositions difficult, not to mention seeing progress, experience and all the other things we track in game and out. The armory etc, the API.

As you can tell I’m mostly thinking out loud as I type :laughing:

As with any other mmo; each character is their own being in a way. The best way to get additional char names is take your main and make variations of it. My Demon Hunter here is a variation of my original character Akuru.

how would you send post to one of them? how would you choose between bob, bob, bob, bob, bob or bob?

im great with names, what class you need a name for?

I also have multiples of classes so the system wouldn’t know which bob-paladin I meant xD

In RPG aspect of the game every character is unique, every character has it’s own name, you want to change it because you can’t create names? better use one of fantasy name generators and you’ll be fine.

priest … holyjoe.
shaman … elementalist.
rogue … thievinkiller
monk … minkymonkey
druid … tiniestacorns
there you go, you can have any you like

How about to do something with the cross-realm thingy? :slight_smile:

Bob-Sylvanas and Bob-Silvermoon to be shown in the same character sheet without changing realms. Thats how the game, the message sender and the armory will tell the difference.

Just make one or a few universal realms which will share AH, raid invites and everything else.

I got more than one of the same char on the same server, so that wont work.
