hi guys can anyone tell me what is the max gold you can move to another realm if you buy a character transfer ( with level 85 hero ) in cata classic
Found this in the FAQ
- You cannot transfer a character that exceeds the gold limit for its level
Character Level Maximum Gold 10-30 500g 31-50 2500g 51-80 25000g
I couldn’t find anything with higher levels than that.
thankyou but i think it’s for wotlk … what about level 85 characters?
Are you talking about retail or classic?
That can’t be right, I’ve send sometimes a few thousand to a new low level alt.
In Retail it’s higher. The player is looking for Classic Progression which is currently in Cata but the list only goes up to 80 which would indicate Wrath.
Seems the article has not been updated with the new Classic expansion.
As far as I remember it was capped at 50K per character with gold to be transferred. That’s how I recall transferring to Silvermoon with 3 characters. I was broke and that was during the MoP expansion.
so there is no clear answer? no one knows i guess
If you start the process it should tell you before you confirm.
Well technically we do know from an article on wowhead who claims its unlimited for retail. What we don’t know is if this applies to the classic servers too as there is no information anywhere to be found on that topic. Not even even blizz’s self help docs mention it. So I am going to assume it has to be unlimited for them too or OP will find once they start the process.
That article I linked has tabs for era and classic progression. It’s just not updated with end levrls since wrath classic
It is unlikely to be unlimited.
Seeing how the AH is region wide now you could always get someone to buy some junk item on the AH you set your gold amount to and trade the gold to you after [minus the AH cut].
Edit – Oh, Classic? Guess you can carry over material goods to AH off. See what goes well on the AH. I used to do that with Pets and Mounts.
Read this article on wowhead that says unlimited. Can’t confirm it as I have not transferred and mostly likely won’t transfer for some time.
That is for RETAIL. This is about CLASSIC CATA
Let me lay it out as no one is going to the link. The support article is laid out with three tabs for the relevant parts of World of Warcraft
Under RETAIL
No restrictions are mentioned for gold because it has none.
Under Classic Era
- You cannot transfer a character that exceeds the gold limit for its level
Character Level | Maximum Gold |
---|---|
10-30 | 100g |
31-50 | 500g |
51-60 | 5000g |
Under Classic Progression
- You cannot transfer a character that exceeds the gold limit for its level
Character Level | Maximum Gold |
---|---|
10-30 | 500g |
31-50 | 2500g |
51-80 | 25000g |
The issue is that the article only goes up to level 80. Cataclysm now goes up to level 85 so the limits may or may not have been increased. I can’t find a definite number at present. So the only thing I could suggest is try transferring with as much as possible and wait for the system to fail you.
Yep I got that which why I said for retail but we don’t know if it applies to classic.
Classic has limitations, they have not been removed, they were not removed in Wrath. The are not removed for Era.
I realise people are trying to help but talking about other systems in other versions of wow is not helping the OP.
