I came back to the game after WoD, just to play with my brother our favorite expansion WOTLK. But it’s impossible, he plays on a locked realm where it’s impossible to transfer a character.
If by some miracle I had the Cross-Realm option, I would no longer need to send tickets after tickets to which I receive a reply after a week with a message as automatic as possible. I don’t understand why my case is not considered because this game is meant to be played with your friends, brothers, etc., in essence it is a social game. How can you ask me to wait until the realm is unlocked because that could take months or years. I’m starting to regret that I entered this game and recommended it to a lot of people to end up in such an unfair situation.
He knew that before he started playing there though, also he can just transfer off, or create a new char toghetter with you. That is what I would do for my brother atleast
You are only level 50 so level a new character there, if you have a character there already that is.
Blizzard will open the realm when they are ready, not when you or anyone else tries to pressure them into it. Stop opening tickets or when you really do have a problem they won’t allow you to make one.
U guys gone in the wrong direction, I got only one lvl 70 character on WOTLK classic, I got none on his realm, he gear up pretty well and is just waste of his time to start all over again, same goes for me, we don’t have that time we had 15 yrs ago.
There is only one direction.
Away from a locked realm.
It is locked and will remain locked untill everyone magically quits, no matter what post you make.
If you play Firemaw/Gehennas forget about it ever unlocking.
I only try to find a solution, however if there is none, I cant do much and I will give up and move on.
If that is the only solution moving from crowded real and take him from his guild, I wont ask that of him.
Stop talking this nonsense. There is no reason to do that, for example to give up a main character you played for many years since classic vanilla with friends on this server aswell and maybe a guild. Locked servers are bad. They split the community, friends and family. Blizzard don’t care about the players in classic. It’s another chapter after the scandals. Behaving like that just shows how bad this company has become.
Actually the reason they keep them locked is to stop even more players moving to the locked realms and causing queues. You can see by the amount of posts here asking for them to be opened that the realms will become overloaded and have queues. Do you want them back?
There will never be queues like at the release again. When will you guys finally understand that ? Retail was dead at the wotlk classic release and the servers were flooded with retail players who are playing DF now. Even if Ulduar comes…retail players have enough to do in DF. Over 95% players will still be in progress.
The realms are locked because they are too big to function when new content drops. They recognize that forcing the server apart into smaller servers is a non solution. Free transfers are available. They aren’t unlocking the big servers until they are much smaller, Gehennas/Firemaw are unlikely to be available as transfer destinations the entirety of wrath. Luckily, there are plenty of other options.
I think you overestimate how much overlap the games have. Nobody in my guild plays retail, or even knows dragonflight came out, let alone when the raids come out. I play it, yeah, but I haven’t done much besides get 2 characters to 70, do all the advanced dragonriding races and mythic 0s. Most classic players main focus is classic, doesn’t matter what else is going on
And that is something to be thankful for, but if people are allowed to transfer to the locked realms queues will be back. remember the 12 hour queues, it won’t be that bad but there will be queues of a few hours.
@Nenechi: Indeed. While I could never confirm it, when Classic was originally launched, my best estimate put Classic population at around 880 000, out of which perhaps around 80 000 were splitting with retail. And today? I am fairly sure that the relative ratio is even lower. Since I dabble with all three versions, I actually feel almost unique, because I only know with certainty ONE other person, who plays all three variants. Naturally, anecdotal evidence is highly unreliable, but two out of hundreds really does not feel like a lot…
Even if there will be smaller queues…saying they need to be locked and other people just have bad luck if they can’t play with their friends is selfish. In that situation you would ask the same and you wouldn’t understand Blizzard’s ignorance. Once again…locked servers splits the community and there will be much toxicity because of the justified frustration. That goes against any resolutions that Blizzard maintains.
No, selfish is wanting to move to a realm with almost the maximum amount of people on it.
In that situation I would already be on the right realm and I understand perfectly what is happening more than you who only sees it from the perspective of someone who wants to be on the realm rather than the people who are already on there and would start to face queues caused by those moving to the realm. You are the one being selfish.
Realms split the community and locked realms don’t split it, they stop people moving there to clog it up.
