My question/problem is that i’d like to transfer one of my characters to another realm, but on that realm i already have a character that i’d like to keep with the same name. If i want to keep the name on the character i’d transfer, is there any way to do it without buying a namechange first for the character that is already on the realm?

If you want to free up the name to be used on the incoming character, you would indeed have to buy a separate name change (or another service that includes one) on the character currently holding the name.
Please note that if you delete the character to free up the name that way, you won’t be able to restore it if the same name has been taken by the transferred character.
Alternatively you can keep the name on the character that has it currently on the destination realm, and you’ll get the option to rename the transferring character for free.
