When you delete a character (120) and then undelete it later (like a week later) are all the items(bags, bank) retained or are they lost?

Your restored character will have the items, enchantments, and gems that were on the character when it was deleted. Items deleted prior to deleting the character are not restored by this feature. If the deleted character has the same name as an active character, you will need to delete or rename the active character before using the Undelete service.

I don’t actually want to test it, and I’ve only ever deleted characters after I’ve stripped them of everything.

Note the cooldown on undeleting characters. If you have several you want back, you’ll want to prioritize.

It does not mention items on bank or guild bank

I just tested on a really old character. Everything in bank is still there as far as I can tell.

I use the undelete function on a regular basis. Can confirm that all bag and bank items are exactly where you left them when you deleted the character.

Nothing is deleted.

I just restored my shaman and they’ve reduced the restore cooldown to 7 days, last time I checked it was 15 or so days. Everything she had in her bags and bank prior to deletion was there, even her gold.

Are you sure though ? do you want to phone a friend ? ask the audience? or go 50/50 :stuck_out_tongue:

I don’t have any friends to phone (true story), the audience just replies with “duhhhhhh” and last time I went 50/50 I ended up waking up half naked in a tub of cold water in a house that wasn’t even known to me… (another true story)…

(Edit) I forgot how much I liked my little space goat totem dumper tbh…)

It’s restored exactly as it was before you deleted it.

Alltough for some reason not all characters appear in the undelete menu. I got several deleted characters that are not appearing there even some “older” deleted characters are. Haven’t figured out why they are not showing. They do exist because i can see them in beta and ptr character copy windows (you can copy also deleted characters).

Also another thing to be careful about is that name thing. If someone else has took the name of the character you deleted it can be pretty challenging to delete someone else active character or get them to change their name.

Oh another thing to add to what radium correclty said, if you have a character already live that has your deleted character’s name you will have to change the name when you restore it.

This will, (for anyone even remotely interested) why SouldefĂ­ler has the special i instead of the normal i.

When I took Souldefíler to silvermoon to chase false hopes of raiding the name was already took so I had to accent the i. On my old realm the name is now taken by someone else, so my Souldefíler alt on Blade’s Edge is now named, Souldefíler. So if I want to remake her in a new race I have to delete the live one, and remake her before anyone snatches the name.

it depends on levels. above 50 i think u can restore any time after deletion.

As for the someone else took my name thing, surely you just get flagged for rename then?

It may require GM involvement but you can’t be expected to get another player to delete their name. They closed the loophole for free renames.

I don’t imagine the name is available straight away (by other players) due to the way they closed the loophole.
