“You cannot log in until the character update process you recently initiated is complete.”
This is the message I’m greeted with whenever I try to log my main for the past 3 days. It started when I requested a refund on a race change service.
Needless to say this is extremely inconvenient as I’m missing out on ICC progression, frost emblems and letting down my guild. Arguably the most exciting raid of the whole expansion and my main is unplayable.

Edit: Day 6, still can’t play the game and Blizz has no ETA for when this will be fixed.

I’m sorry to hear that your character has been locked following a refund.
Please do open a ticket if you haven’t done so already, and a game master should be able to help you out as soon as possible.

First thing I did was open a ticket, nothing has come of it though. I was hoping with the realm restart the problem would be fixed but the character is still unplayable.
It has been a week and tbh it is very disappointing how Blizz hasn’t come up with a solution. Can’t they copy the inventory over to a new character and delete the old one?
Why even keep playing wotlk at this point…
I’m afraid that this isn’t a thing. 
Having looked at your issue though, I can confirm that this is still being worked on. Sorry that it’s taking so long.
I find that hard to believe. I mean, you can copy characters to the PTR, you can restore items after being hacked or selling by mistake. Hard to believe the devs can’t copy/create a character on live realms.
Or is it too inconvenient to do this? Or am I just waiting in a queue? I don’t know what else to think…
Maybe a GM doesn’t have the tools or permission but surely someone in the company has the power to do this.
Nobody has the tools to do something like this, be it Customer support, or the developers.
Characters can be copied on the PTR, because the developers created a system that allows players to do so in order to test a new patch or expansion (and I’m guessing, and have better test environment where players don’t have to redo everything before they’re able to test the new content).
There’s no such feature on live servers that would allow you, us, or the developers to duplicate a character, because there would simply be no point in such as feature.
Your character should’ve been unlocked an hour ago, by the way. Could you try again please? You should also receive a new message to your tickets.

Well, a development at least. Do I need to open a new ticket to solve this error now?
