could not care about blizzard but u guys crying over little classic servers there has maintenance go milk a cow or go for walk idk do something else for maybe 1-2 hours where u can’t play classic

It would actually be reasonable (kind-of …) for all characters to go missing. ‘Kind of’ because the server is brand new (although it has been online for over 24 hours, so one would hope there is a 24 hours backup).
I’m not retrying login for a while, but I had (for Spineshatter)
- black screen, no characters, and ‘Create Character’ button greyed out
- background, no characters, ‘Create Character button’ working, but both factions locked due to imbalance (at the same time)
- background, characters, click, stuck at 80% loading
- now back to black background, no characters, ‘Create’ buttons working, both factions locked. That was 1/4 of an hour ago.
An interesting point is that in a situation like this, if it happened in June 2024 or earlier, people would say ‘come on get the server back online’. Instead, everyone is worried about characters being erased and lost. This is an example of how much damage can be done by ‘sweeping things under the rug’. If this is a full character wipe (unlikely), it would cause a wave of un-subs now, whereas if it was June 2024 (and somehow Anniversary Classic at that time), people would accept it to some degree (people who had played for 20 years would think ‘you can, incredibly rarely, lose 1 day of progress of character time, if there is a catastrophic bug, and we will be getting apologies and compensation, and we know the chances of this happening again are now basically nil’).
You do of course not even realise that being in a thread, being the one telling people they should not complain. Is the most pathetic thing ever right?
