Characters in cutscenes

When are our characters going to actually do something other than just stand there and stare in cutscenes?

Everytime a cutscene happens after a quest our characters are either standing in the background or not even there, would love to see more of our characters lets say be more involved such as delivering the killing blow in a raid or story quest [private cutscene for each individual player] or npcs talking directly to the character we create with silent expressions, just think we have the technology to do these tiny details.

I guess we can only hope that something more interesting will be there in TWW and the other World Soul Sage cutscenes.

when we’ll have tech for it

I strongly dislike losing control of my character. Cutscenes should be reserved for tales from NPC’s. Otherwise I should be in control.

The only exception I’ll allow is when I have already made an active choice to do it and it isn’t a normal action.

What could we do? There is absolutely no way they give a voice to the player character

Give them this voice;

Automatic /dance during cutscenes.

Problem fixed.

The less they make my character have to do, the better. If I can stand there with a helmet on my face looking fabulous in my mogs and it’s not immediately clear what I’m thinking about the situation (given that I am likely thinking a version of “pfffft”), I’m happy with that.

I believe they should really give a try to AI generated voice lines, so that you can choose your character’s voice, the technology is getting better day after day to the point where you almost can’t recognise the difference.

Aside from that yea, I would like the characters to be a bit more animated as well. Not necessarily do or say something, but at least have an idle animation that suits the situation. I guess they would have to update character models to have a few more polygons and bones to animate though.

If you want your character to matter a lil, play SWTOR.

I actually like my character in cutscenes. It makes me feel she’s part of something important rather than just an onlooker.

Might of miss interpret what im saying, i dont mean voice the characters im just saying our characters should have more interaction in cutscenes for example.

After the Chromie and Nozdormu questline after completing the dungeon you get a cutscene of Alexstrasza thanking you for helping, but the character you play is just standing there like a potato.

Compare it to something recent

Malfurion and Tyrande reunite, after the whole cutscene it could of shown are player character smile and leave, ending the epilogue of dragonflight expansion.

I never see The cutscrenes. Dont Care about The story in wow anymore.

They did it in Ny’alotha and it was the cringiest thing I’ve ever seen in the game.
I am completely fine with being a silent protagonist and being “one of many” in the world. Nothing makes me cringe more than “wanting to feel like the main character” in an mmo.

I always found those cutscenes a bit cringy honestly, especially because my character just stands there awkwardly like they’re just there by coincidence.

Its nice when you do it at max lvl and you see your picked transmog wich you dont got to replace all the time.

It just looks stupid during leveling when all your items make you look like a clown because you are constantly replacing your items

That is true, but at least it’s only me who sees her

First thing what i always do when getting new item is to tmog it! This makes leveling alts look good in cutscenes

Isn’t this quite standard in games where the player created character is as unique as in WoW? What would you have them do? How would they make our characters do something without it going against the individual player’s idea of their character?
