I logged into a character that I’d not been on for quite some time this morning, and got a pop-up message saying:
"Chat has been turned off. There are regional regulations that affect this account. Chat features have been disabled by default. You can re-enable those features now, or decide to enable them later via the Chat Settings panel.
If you decide to enable them, please be mindful of our community interaction policies and report any abusive behavior, chat, or other conduct intended to undermine or disrupt the game experience using our in-game reporting options; we’ll review chat records and takr appropriate action."
Then two buttons to either turn the chat on or leave it off.
I play regularly on other characters and have never had this message before. I’ve spoken to others in the guild, none of whom have seen this message, and at least one of whom resides in the same country as me.
Could anyone explain exactly why I’ve seen the message, and what it means?
I had that message too but I have not been suspended, I only chat in guild and occasionally in LFR or Dungeons but I am always polite and I never insult other players
Don’t think that would be it … because I would imagine that if you had a suspension it wouldn’t give you a button to say “nah, I’ll keep chatting” … plus I’d not been on that character for ages, and never interacted with anyone when I was.
you need to understand that this has nothing to do with you. it’s just blizzard covering their butts from legal persecution. it’s like when twitch started forcing people to not use music. they’re not trying to screw with their users
I’ve never used trade chat with this character, and the last time I even looked at trade chat was several years ago. Also … I’m on Lightbringer/Mazrigos. We are a very low population realm that should have been connected again in the last round of connections, but they got cut short. We don’t HAVE a trade chat
