topic. I’m unable to use the chat, and I can’t even find the panel for “chat” (used to be next to ‘raid’ and ‘who’ iirc - it’s gone?)
Tried https://eu.battle.net/support/en/article/9738 did nothing except for snipped up my addons and reseting all settings. What now?

What happens when you try to join channels manually, Fresh?
Try typing in game :
/join General
/join Trade
Also please open up Chat settings. Right-click General chat tab and then go to Settings > Channels. In there check if the channels are correctly ticked.
We recently had some issues with chat channels but they should be fixed now and after joining the channels your character should be ok 
Please try the steps, and if they won’t work - comeback and describe in detail what is going on.

Hi,
if I try /join General or /Join Trade it doesnt do anything. If I type /1 or /2 it doesnt show “General” “Trade” but /3 ‘converts’ to "LookingForGroup. Local defense doesnt work either.
In settings > Channels I can see:
-
General
-
Trade
-
LookingForGroup
-
LocalDefense
All of them are checked and greyed out except for 3.LookingForGroup
(there were a bunch of custom chat channels that I lost when I did the reset thing)
Additional question: What happened to that window where you could see all people in a channel? Like, if you were in UC and went to “chat” - you could see all people in UC (General) all people in cities (Trade) etc. Was
this feature removed?

Is this happening on all your characters or just one?
If on one, please copy over cache file.
- Please go to WoW folder :
Retail > WTF > Account > (WoW account name) > realm > character with working chat - > copy “chat-cache.txt”
2 . Then paste “chat-cache.txt” in character affected folder : Wow > WTF > Account → (WoW account name) > realm > character with the issue “chat-cache.txt”
- Restart game
If that won’t help - please consider creating a ticket so that we can look into your account
