Check PvP - How to protect yourself and your Characters

No, just most are, and giving them further ways to hide their creep behavior will actually help the stalkers even more tbh.
A stalker can use this to hide themselves too. And most don’t use the forums anyways, so you are actually doing more harm than you think.
I know it’s not your intention, but still…

Edit: Further proven since the only ones who liked your post are people who fake themselves using multiple alts.

Tell me on what character I’m a member of this community bud

Whew, got me there. I thought for a second this was Shatar community, not Argent Dawn

I’d need to know your characters.

Lol. This is crazy talk. Most people would disable their check pvp given the chance. They just don’t know about it.

Assuming people who value their privacy have something to hide makes you look like a police state.

Or… Here’s a thought. People just like to have a bit of privacy.

Damn, too bad there’s no way to prove your point that we are all part of the same hivemind and it’s actually unaffiliated individuals agreeing on the topic, right?

Privacy from what thou? Knowing alts? I like privacy too, but yeah… Someone knowing every single one of my chars doesn’t feel like lack of privacy.

Every Tyrannid hive fleet has its Genestealers but by all means you can give me a list of your characters if you want to prove your point so hard.

Well yeah. That’s certainly one of the reasons.

Hivefleet effendi is ready to send its haremstealers.

That’s a fair stance to take honestly and the altposters are definitely making a case for you lol

In the end for me it simply boils down to, outside of the not sharing data by default, having to press one single button to really hamper both in game harassment (and having to deal with awfully slow moderation because of it) + out of game harassment and it’s not really stopping anyone from finding the smallbrain behind whichever rp griefing/disrupting or jade witchery has just taken place because I’m not involved with any of that (t-trust me, I have more important things to do - like posting on the official World of Warcraft forums in the middle of the night). I can imagine my opinion would be somewhat different if I was a guild leader for sure though

Half of the posts were the exact “why does it matter if you don’t have anything to hide??” argument which is just a whack one and very frustrating to still see in general

Except plenty of people, including ones I disagree with, in this thread right now aren’t

Did you say Settra… Great King, the Imperishable, Khemrikhara, The Great King of Nehekhara…

Imagine the need to send your character names to someone to identify yourself in 2021??? lmao

No one likes to being stalked in game, and I get that you may hide because of that, not everyone deals with it the same way, but don’t call it something it isn’t.

I respectfully disagree with the assumption that most people who wish to be safe online are predators. Sadly, a tiny minority of creeps are, but also equally sadly, Check-PVP can been used a tool to stalk and abuse people. Isn’t it better that everyone can protect themselves from this?

If you’ll forgive my awful analogy, it’s akin to opening the defences for - and exposing to very real danger - the entire community because a tiny handful of people might deserve to be taken down.

Like I and several others have said in this thread above, there are good people out there who have being followed and abused on World of Warcraft, and protecting yourself on Check-PVP is a very good way of helping to fight that, alongside asking Blizzard themselves for help.

Alt-check can be good to also be able to -avoid- people you want to avoid. The whole harassment shindig we’re discussing here goes both ways. You want to be left alone but someone keeps making alts to approach you for example. The problem to me isn’t alt-checking, it is harassment. Which should be directed to Blizzard.
Do what you feel comfortable with to protect yourself and enjoy the game?

Don’t like it? You just block yourself from the site easily as OP wrote.
Meanwhile that website isnt entirely reliable either. I guess TLDR: “Just dont be an…eggplant.”

Me asking you how is that whack and you replying “its just whack” helps little in the overall conversation im ngl

But i’ll just take the assumption of you hating all forms of privacy invasion, irl or otherwise
