Check pvp is illigal and should be sued

Is it correct saying that Illidan did illigal things?

Its not. They are using what is publicy shared by Blizzard. And its not “your private data”. The character belongs to Blizzard. Your actual private information is not shared.

Its not even remotely the same.

It is not.

The amount of people trying to talk about law while not understanding it is too damn igh.

Seems I have a lawsuit incoming in the mail. Want to try and agree on a settlement before this reaches the courts?

Check-PvP is great.
Today I found out that one of the teams we fought and beaten in 2s were Rogue and Mage, while Mage was streamer and Rogue had 3400+ xp, and Mage 3000+ xp.

Check PVP is generally a really popular tool among roleplayers to keep track of who is who and to avoid ERPers trying to sign up to RP guilds that don’t want ERPers joining on an alt
For that alone it should be made a built in tool for armory

Why exacly? You have Dataforazeroth, wowprogress and many more ranking sites, how do they affect you? They do not have your Real life informations, people only see your characters and progress ingame etc. It should not bother anyone.

Will probably need an illawyer.

While avoiding ERP players and all is all good and niice and all. Its also used for various nefarious reasons too…

Although in this case. It’s pretty much whats been mentioned above.

To everyone outside of the RP realm this might seem like a Alien problem to you all.
But Disagree or get disliked or bullied or fall in bad favor with anyone and the above mentioned. Beyond just ErP.

Sites like check-pvp is used by Roleplayers to isolate and stalk other players trough influence and word of mouth. Depending on the varying opinions people have of eachother :joy: Literally the facebook stalker tool for Roleplayers. For whatever they fancy… Not just ERP.

You might not agree with the right ‘‘Lore’’ or ways of rp… Or maybe your characters fell out of favor during an encounter. Maybe you fell out with someone OOC about a politcal opinion… Check-pvp makes sure the person influencial enough gets you exiled.

I see its already schizopost Saturday…

You are talking about private data of videogame character you play in virtual world. Do you have other fobias or perhaps psychotic episode going on?

Dunno if anyone has mentioned this since it’s such a long thread and I cba to read it all, but hiding your profile on the forum only hides your forum profile, i.e. the page you access when you click on a character here. The armory page is NOT hidden by that, and can still be accessed normally (just not via the links in the forum, since those becomes hidden). Try manually searching for a character with a hidden profile, on the armory instead of the forum, and see for yourself.

It’s the armory that provides the data for websites like check-pvp, not the forum profile page. Just sayin’. Seems to be a lot of confused people about how it works, in this thread.

hides characters from check-pvp in the site directly

disables battlenet 3rd party character data thingy

Heh, nothin personel kid
