Checking your Chromie Time

Quick question:

Is there an icon or anything on screen to see if you are in Chromie time and which one ?

Fun fact: It doesn’t matter what timeline you selected. Chromie merely gives you the starting quest for that expansion, everywhere is scaled and you don’t have to switch in order to level elsewhere.

But no there is not an icon.

Thanks, was hoping there was something on screen as well to save doing that.

It would help with keeping track of alt levelling. Possibly grouping for levelling too on alts, seeing what timelines both players are on. :smiley:

That is interesting, so you are NOT really on a timeline as such ?

Not really, as far as world phases go there is just timewalking or not, and not one for every timeline. The timeline you choose affects which dungeons you can queue for in the dungeon finder.

I was not aware it affects dungeons, it sounded like a world sync to your characters level from a previous explanation.

You can check your dungeon finder to check your current expansion :slight_smile:

Kek I don’t. Easy to craft some basic gear but with pre-patch events on 15th just farm those.

To OP: Sorry I forgot about the dungeon thing… mainly because I don’t bother too much. I spam “classic” (low level cata) zones and dungeons because it’s so much faster and easier. But seems sorted now!

It matters for dungeons. You can only queue for the dungeons of the expansion you have selected in Chromie Time. So LFD is in fact the only way to check if you are in Chromie Time and in wich expansion you are.

You can only join random BFA dungeons? You are not in Chromie Time.
You can only join random WOTLK dungeons? You are in Chromie Time and you have selected WOTLK.
And so on, with the exception that Cataclysm Chromie Time includes both Cataclysm and Classic dungeons queues.

I think so but I can’t say for sure.

this also meens heart of azzoroth will scale to level 60 and azarite gear and azarite traits will scale to level 60 …

Hold on. So does that mean that HoA will go up from ilvl 70 to idk ilvl 200+?

i expect azarite haveing higher ilvl then prepatch gear becurse SL prepatch gear was like ilvl 100 and azarite gear was ilvl 120 … so if they scale it to 60 it might be like ilvl 240-260sh ?

Hold on, again lol. If they scale BfA content to level 60, that means BfA raids won’t be soloable even during Dragonflight… great!

Scaling is only applied to normal dungeons and outdoor content. So while leveling in BFA will scale from 20 to 60 all BFA raids probably will remain at level 50.

It is how other expansions content works. Legion scales from 1 to 50 but Legion raids and mythic/heroic dungeons have a fixed level of 45.
