Hello Guys. I’m having hard time about to choice an Alt , i don’t know what choice between Pala,DK, War or Druid . I would like to di both PvP and PVE , i like DPS and Tanking for mostly .
Honestly Heard a lot about DK and Paladin and Also War where for Tanking these all Class was “Avarage spec”, anyway i’m pretty undecided about what alt to choice.
I’d choose Druid or Paladin.
Druid is the most fun Ive had in years on this game. It seems quite diverse and you get lots to press, even if its just shifting into different forms. The mobility is so nice. Especially as Night Fae. Flag carrying in BGs is fun because you can just zoom away from everyone. Also Convoke the Spirits is just super fun. If you set it up right and can isolate 1 or 2 players, you drop them. Its great! I mainly play balance, and you tend to get groups looking for boomies in PvE and PvP. Ive not tanked too much, but when you do, you are a tank. Like a big flippin tank.
Paladin I cant comment too much on, I dont have one at 60, but from what Ive seen in PvP and PvE is that they can basically solo content. I did a Mythic+ 5 with a paladin tank and he told the healer to go dps, he was only 204 ilvl. And he just tanked and healed the whole dungeon. Also in PvP tank pala is a tank and can heal a whole load. Also Ret looks fun, just dropping people super fast when the set ups right.
I think either of those two. Every spec for both classes is viable. Paladin will be my next one I think
Hello!
As you might know, things can easily change, and what I say now might not be the case in a year. However, if your goal is to generally tank and do PvP/PvE, then I’d honestly choose warrior right now.
Out of the few classes you mentioned, only two of them are not considered “wheelchairs”, that being druid and warrior. On top of that, warrior is looking immensely promising as a tank in the nearest future, and with fury finally starting to shine a bit in PvE, it’s not difficult to see the class returning to its past glory, and that’s not to mention arms in PvP, which is currently one of the best specs in the game.
Overall, it depends a lot on what you want to play. While arms is incredibly good in PvP, in 1v1 or just random BGs, it’s not unusual to be destroyed by more self-sustaining classes like paladin. So if your goal is to just do M+ up to level 15, do HC raiding and/or PvP up to 1.8k, then I’d personally go for paladin, as it too looks promising in 9.1.
To give you an idea on what each of them are good at, I’ll list which one shines the most in each situation:
Tanking:
Guardian Druid and Protection Paladin.
- While both of them are heavily outshined by Vengeance Demon Hunter, they are both considered B-tier level, while Blood Death Knight and Protection Warrior are at C-tier.
PvE (Mythic+):
Fury Warrior
- If your goal is for a melee spec, then fury warrior is the “best” choice among your list of classes, performing at C-tier, while the others are D- or F-tier. However, if you don’t mind playing a ranged DPS, then you should definitely try boomkin instead for this type of content, as it’s currently a must-have for M+ (S-tier).
PvE (Raiding):
Fury Warrior and Unholy Death Knight.
- Both of them shine quite well in the raid right now as A-tier specs. The other specs are, unfortunately, B-, C-, or D-tier. However, once again if you don’t mind playing ranged, then Balance Druid wins as a S-tier.
PvP:
Arms Warrior.
- Like I mentioned above, arms warrior is incredibly good in PvP right now, and should not be underestimated. However, this is alongside a good healer friend, as arms on its own can easily be shut down in a 1v1 against more self-sustaining classes like retribution paladin or Feral Druid. If your goal is to just do Rated Battlegrounds or similar, then I’d go for Retribution Paladin, as it shines much more in that type of content, with balance druid once again being the most sought after spec, but only for RBG.
I hope this was a bit useful for you =)
Warrior, most mobile out the 3, has less utility to worry about and can focus on damage.
I’d go with either DK or warrior myself.
Paladin should be no go if you have any testosterone in you.
Go for a hunter
Your pet can tank
And if you’re a Worgen you look cool doing it.
And you’re fast as heck
Fury warrior DPS is extremely good in M+. Well, maybe not in tyrannical weeks, since they don’t have great single-target output, but people don’t play in tyrannical weeks anyway.
Worgen is a nice race for DK due to their racial ability.
Worgen get to mount in the maw:-)
Thanks all for the advices! you are all very helpful! Anyway i have made a war some weeks ago but i have still some doubts about “to play a war = smash smash mindlessly” that’s what i have fear to feel when i’ll get hight levels with the war. So i have no choice just to try and see i guess.
… or i will stick with a mage, but i was planning to play mage on tbc classic and to play the same class on retail and classic it’s just meh i think .
Druid would be your choice, then.
Literally what…
Druid ofc.
Both DK and Ret are wheelchair. And compared to a warrior they are quicksand.
There’s some stuff in the next raid that just screams paladins and rogues in regards of immunity. Chain Debuff on garrosh (amongst others)? Never heard of that.
But since he doesn’t want to be an wheelchair anyway the only proper option is warrior.
Well you can start by not using the term wheelchair as a derogatory term towards classes who are slow. No need to take a dump on people with disabilities.
Haven’t spoiled myself aboot next raid. That’s nice if that’s the case, but that also means mage is also going to remain meta, which saddens me.
That kinda narrowed it down.
If it can dispel said Debuff. May be possible that it can’t. Haven’t checked yet. Raid leader put me and the Palas on it when we tested garrosh.
“wheelchair” Is an term of the current Meta , not mine. Since i like the pve too , i don’t want to have hard Life to find a group in raid or Mythic where i had this bad situation in legion with the rogue. Anyway with the rogue It’s pure love now , an marriage on the good or on the bad .
Anyway im trying Druid too , and see if i like more Warrior or Druid and the druid is still horde and a Tauren, yeah my love for the horde side it’s only the love for my Blood Elf Rogue (i like Blood Elf race since TBC)
On paper I’d go with DK every time.
DoTs, pets, dark theme, self sustain, good utility, juggernaut of a character.
In reality the DoTs are boring to manage, their self healing is probably the worst outside of maybe Ele Shaman, and their damage isn’t worth the lack of mobility.
Fury Warrior is very high APM game play and Ret Paladin is broken.
To me Druid is a love it or hate it kind of spec, if you’ve tried it and not rolled it then it’s probably not going to hold your attention 6-12 months down the road.
I’ve rolled Druid before and eventually I get bored of being in a shapeshift form. I dislike the Balance eclipse system too. Balance Druid is carried by the fact that it’s OP, when the nerf bat comes, and it will, boomies will be left with a subpar caster that has an awkward “ST before you can AOE” (and vice versa) mechanic.
No it isn’t. It’s term used to indicate that certain classes are as slow as people in wheel chairs, which is a degenerate comment and should be left out.
So I got flagged because I said warrior is a better choice than paladin in terms of output, utility, scaling and mobility… Ok.
Honestly trying myself Warrior and druid it not suit me , i dunno how but i’m not getting much fun with Warrior and now im thinking to try Paladin
