Choosing a class to tank/heal in M+ and heal/rdps in raids

I don’t know if this is the right place to ask this question but I wanted to get some opinions on choosing a class that can tank or heal in M+ and without much trouble (respec, etc.) heal or range damage in raids. I realise this may be a weird question, but I was thinking about something like:

  • Can a disc/holy priest heal M+ and raids with the same gear/talents/convenants/etc? Or alternatively, how difficult would be for a M+ healer priest to raid as shadow?
  • Same for resto/ele shaman, holy/prot paladin, and guardian/resto/balance druid.

Basically, I want to raid once or twice a week and run M+ in the meantime. I want to tank or heal in M+ and heal or rdps in raids. I wonder how viable this is with a single character, as opposed to having two separate characters for each of these activities.

Mistweaver is the best healer for M+

The best healer for don’t find any party for playing.

Still the strongest

When i play Holy Priest, i generally only swap out Holy Word: Salvation and Apotheosis depending on raid vs m+

Generally all Healers are quite solid and good, it depends on what you enjoy to play.

Priest gives you an option between 2 very distinct healing specs, which is nice.

Holy Priest i think picks Night Fae or Necrolord and both are rather viable.

Answer to everything: Druid

if you go nightfae for druid you should be able to play tank, healer and owl quite decently. depends on how high you want to push though in m+ but with covenant swapping it shouldnt be an issue to adapt. you might need different legendaries/talents for each content type though. you cant really use one set of talents for everything either. i mean you can but you d be playing sub optimally then.

can only speak for druid though as its my main.

Ele/resto shammy for easy life and groups. Boomkin will get in groups easy, resto dru had been poop in m+ all SL. Same for priest pretty much no one wants them (m+) . All healers are fine in raid though.

not really, i d say they are perfectly fine until anything above +20s.

Maybe if you’re going for higher keys. If you’re just going for 15s they’re more than fine.

Anythings fine up to 20s agreed. Being a perfectly fine class = very long queue times though if you pug. Shammy/holy pally have a wayyyyyy better perception right now. And rightly so when they can pump 5k dps out, when rest of healers struggle 2k.

sure, but i seriously doubt the majority even runs +20s and even less so higher keys than +20s. hey, i reckon the majority doesnt even run +15s.

and the queue times, its fine. its not as fast as the meta classes but its also not taking as long as unpopular dps classes. i usually dont really have a problem to find a pug on my druid even though i get declined a couple of times but i guess thats just normal.

imo covenants are the bigger problem. at least for me, they were the only problems i ran into doing my +15s and +20s. i just couldnt get into anything venthyr related being nf/kyrian even if my life depended on it. :joy:

but yes, its the perception thats the problem, same with non meta tanks/dps. i dont think its rightly so if it doesnt make a difference up to +20s given how little of the player base is actually concerned. if you dont time a key because your healer didnt do enough damage then your group was garbage to begin with.

its more like some healers are op and the rest is normal.

i mean you dont say all the other runner athletes suck and are “rightfully perceived as bad or worse/less” just because they arent Usain Bolt or Tyson Gay. at least i hope noone says that.

so imo its just a false perception led on by looking at what the top 1% is doing.

Go druid, does it all:

  • insane tank for m+
  • very decent healer in m+, just lacks dmg
  • rdps as boomy, one of the strongest
  • mdps as feral

Also you get very cool covenant abilities, convoke is so good to click.

You also get instant mounting, stealth, tons of utility.

Necrolord FTW! Preferably with Emeni soulbind.
