Choosing a main for shadowlands

I’ve been busy for weeks if not months to choose a main for shadowlands. I’ve been through quite a lot of videos, posts, reviews and playing the classes myself.

Anyone got any tips? Because I’ve seen classes I enjoyed getting nerfed to a point it’s not even funny anymore and it seems to keep rotating on and on.

Should I just wait for release instead?

Do what I do. Can’t change main cause way to many exalted reps on this one so the rep tab just feels empty otherwise

Honestly. Your best bet is playing something that you enjoy.
Covenant abilities, soulbinds, conduits, legendaries and all those other things will make it near impossible to properly balance things and I know we will see a lot of balance upgrades throughout shadowlands.
Even if you pick something that performs better than everything else, it will likely get nerfed and vice versa.
Just pick a class that you identify with and you’ll have more fun in the long run.

Play what YOU enjoy.

Play something you enjoy. If you go for the meta slave play, you will change class, spec almost every tier. Start collecting transmogs on one character, use All The Things addon. That helped me the most.

Just get everything to 120, when SL lands play the top class, and something upper middle table. If your top boy gets nerfed to oblivion, got ya fall back chara.

On topic, I am also in a dilema myself, I am still undecided between Brewmaster or Guardian.

I used to be like that until Legion but I got tired of my Protadin and then I switched.

Being stuck cause of those reputation tabs wasn’t healthy.

I am Rabies the Magnificent.
I have one main.

I may choose to raid with alts.
i may even make the choice of not playing Rabies as much
but i am always Rabies the Magnificent.

Thats how i picked a main, everything else is just an alt

To be fair I’ve always enjoyed at least 2 out of 3 DK specs no matter what patch and expansion so for me it isn’t as much “being stuck” as it is me wanting to complete my toon as much as possible

Yes, but even after release there’s a chance it will get nerfed.

Some people only seem to be able to play a class if it’s strong, others will only play a class if they enjoy it. Some will just never change main.

Personally I am in the last category and thus it makes it very easy for me going from expansion to expansion.

Even though we don’t have all our abilities or ranks of abilities you can get a feel for how classes play. If all you care about is being a flavour of the month class then the wait will be longer until they’ve finished tweaking stuff.
