So i stopped XP at 59 in chromie time. I dont want to get kicked out of the timewarp because i am leveling all old expansion proffs on a character.
So far in a few days ive managed to level mining and jewelcrafting in vanilla to 300, in outland to 75, in WOTLK to 75, Cata to the point where i need to buy recipes to get the last few, MoP is now on a daily CD to get the last few skill points.
Now I am in legion since i cant move the other ones as they are all on some time gate/Daily CD.
In legion there were longs lists of crafting quests some of which required dungeon runs and a few proffs such as alchemy required a raid even.
How am i going to do a raid in chrmie time for the proffs if nobody does them? Alchemy required an item from the emerald nightmare raid.
I cant do a raid at 59 on my own. I will get slaughtered as i am in chromie time and stuff scales.
Can i just re-emable XP and go back to legion after chrmoie time kicks me out and ends?
THis is all a bit confusing for me. When chromie time ends i know we get kicked out of that time line. Not cool really as we are there for a purpose. We should be given a quest to confirm if we want to keep leveling in that expansion and keep earning XP till we are maxxed out.
Firstly you don’t need to be in Chromie Time to do that content. All Chromie Time does is scale up the mobs that you’re fighting.
You can’t enter a raid or Mythic (possibly Heroic) dungeon in Chromie Time so even if you got a friend to help you’d have to turn it off.
At 59 you probably could do Legion raids on Normal or LFR (you can port straight into LFR by talking to a guy in Dalaran and those let you do the quests). Depends on your gear.
Firstly Chromie Time switches off at 61 now. Although you can switch it off yourself at any time by speaking with Chromie in SW / Org.
Secondly you won’t notice any difference except mobs will revert to the usual max level (in Legion that’s 45).
Quests will become Trivial so you’ll need to turn on Trivial Quests in your Tracking options next to your minimap to see them and they’ll be a darker shade than usual (I find them tricky to see but others probably don’t).
Edit to add: Chromie Time is only there so that you get XP from mobs and Quests up to a certain point (currently 61).
You can do the quests outside of chromie time but the mobs will stop scaling to you after a certain point. Legion is level 45. Wrath is level 30 I think. If you kill a level 30 mob at 59 you won’t get any XP and if you do a Wrath quest at 59 you might get 10 XP for the quest itself. So not viable for leveling an alt.
Legion maxes at level 45. You can solo the LFR version of those raids at 59 easily. Just disable chromie time, do the raid, then put it back on. There is no need to change your XP. This will only be an issue in BfA onwards.
Honestly mate, once you get out of Legion and into Dragon Isles, you won’t even be thinking about finishing Legion content. And in 2.5 months time when you move onto TWW, you won’t think twice about uncompleted things in DF.
Let the game guide your progression, it’s a much more enjoyable experience.
Some people like collecting pets and mounts. Even if it means standing in one place for a week a la blanche in SL. Not me. I have a different nut to crack and that is filling bars and quests. I like doing quests.
For some reason i am so bored with DF i dont want to play it.
So i made a new character and leveled mining and jewelcrafting now all the way though to BFA. I cant finish some expansions yet due to not owning the requisite recipes, lacking mats or being time gated on crafting CD’s. So i am leaving those.
Legion mining was a royal you know what. I tracked over 24 hours to get that bar to fill to 100. At 55 stuff started slowing way down and only the rich nodes yielded anything. Id say by the 75 mark only the seams in the caves gave points. The last 10 points i did with quests.
But legion was by far the hardest out of all them so far. Vanilla was only hard as the bar went to 300 but almost half of that can be done with copper and tin alone and then combining them to make bronze.
Anyway off on some tangent
The reason i did chromie was that i was worried i would not be able to access the main quest startters for each expansion as i level through the professions. But i am at a point now where leaving chromie dont matter anymore. I have a separate character that is doing bfa minin/jewelcrafting so i can leave chromie .
In draenor you cant just drop in. You have to do the garrison and get to a point where you ccan start doing things.
I was trying to get all profs done in every expansion. I am only a few short so this is the kind of crap i do when i get bored.
Blacksmithing, inscription and engineering left now, when i get bored again.
Don’t worry, you can still access them from the Hero’s Call Board in the capitals even at max level. Every character should be and is able to return to any previous expansions content and complete it.
