Class balance at it finest

I said this before on the forums, DK’s phisical reduction from armor went down too much.

I don’t really play alts, but today I was curious so I wanted to see how much physical reduction the armor provides on my 106 ilvl shaman compared to my 132 ilvl DK.

Shaman (ilvl 106) 37% physical damage reduction
DK (ilvl 132) 38% physical damage reduction

Before the squish my DK had 50% and now 38%.

How is this normal?

do you use a shield on your shaman?

really? it’s OK for a plate wearer to have the same armor with a lower ilevel mail wearer?

I had 50% before the squish.

Everybody uses a shield on ele and resto

You should take it easy when chatting on a forum.
First, you never disclosed that you are playing your shaman as an elemental or restoration.
Second, both of these specs can very well use an offhand or an intelligence two hander weapon.
Third, death knights rely on self healing rather than shields. They wear plate armor which also gives them a strong passive physical reduction damage.
But you have to keep in mind that a shield offer a noticeable amount of armor.

TL;DR;
Yes this is completely OK. Each class has its strenghts and weaknesses, and DK survivability is not solely based on its armor. It has a lot of life steal and many cooldowns to mitigate incoming damage and not only physical. On top of that DK have great tools to remove controls and prevent them. Using these of course prevents damage that could be inflected on you.

if that is so, may be developers should be notified about that because in pvp selfheal is close to non existent

in pve yeah selfheal is good

Yes this is mainly true in pve. Especially after the recent nerf to Death Strike in pvp.

Than why did it have 50% resitance in BFA?

My guess is that values went down with the prepatch
