Class balance

Currently and almost most of the time class balance is non exist,
at the current state i think challenging part of game is for 5-7 classes only, i know 21s not that challenging but people dont care
As a retribution paladin i want to keep playing challenging contents but not possible right now, have done all keys at +20 difficculty but now i am mostly waiting for invite to 21s like 2-3 hours (not joking) a
*classes with no aoe cap dominating dps

  • in 5/8 of mythic+ dungeons mass dispell is almost mandatory
  • no tank balance no healer balance
  • and now since last patch only support class evoker has 1 slot
i mean i can understand that if people pushing 26-30 keys looking for best possible classes to reach their goal, but the difference is too vast non meta class have to wait hours to get an invite even for 21-22 .
I am really exhausted bkz of waiting hours is not funny
i am leveling a ā€œmetaā€ class as a last restort,
8-10 of my friends stopped playing the game

I actually rolled myself a shadow priest this season because I just super liked the tier set. And while it has helped me immensely to get into m+ groups I do have to say, it is tiring to play him. It has way too much utility. On my warlock I can mostly just blast stuff with some aoe stuns thrown into the mix. On my shadow priest however you have your pi, mass dispel, normal dispels, offhealing with vampiric, helping out mobility with feathers and leap of faith and much more. Sometimes it just get exhausting and all I just want to do is blast stuff.

Blizzard really should avoid stuffing too much stuff on singular specs.

not really true All tanks are almost the same strength except Guardian/ VDH are abit better but not neccesary to bring one of them.

You already have a META class as you call it. The issue here as i understand it you don’t want to play off roles of your character. As an example i prefer to raid as WW for my own reasons however at mythic plus this season i went as brewmaster in order to enjoy the content i want without having to waste time not playing but jumping at Valdrakken’s fountain.

Blizzard cant balance the game in a way the every single spec of every single class is equal at every single season. Season 2 your class had the best tank for many weeks (and is probably still top 2) and then had the best healer. My point is you can’t have ALL 3 specs S or A tier of your class. Even as retri you still have more utility than a lot of dps classes.

This is correct shadow has a lot of utlity but you don’t have to use them all every dungeon.
PI you just make a cast focus macro and play it with VF and Spoils every 2mins (or just delay little bit for next pack).
Normal dispel you play it only UR and BH.
VE you usually just pop it with big cds at cooldown except if its needed at X pack.
Feathers honestly only for myself i barely ever use them for someone else.
Leap of faith i use it maybe once a week.
Mass dispel obviously is the strong one but outside bursting weeks its used only to dispel a pack of mobs that have shields (Ur or VP as an example or HoI boss) or to help your healer if there is a 2nd magic debuff before their magic dispel finish cooldown.
Mind soothe usually only at FH/NL/HoI and 1 mob at BH.

After running 10-15 times a dungeon you have muscle memory when you need to use X spell so its not really exhausting.

Clearly perfect balance is impossible. There will always be 1 meta spec. The question is by how much? 5%? 10%?

The devil is in the details because a spec that is 5% stronger is only really impactful in the top MDI M+ runs. And the community knows it. And that is EXACTLY what happened in S1.

Unlike S2 post 10.1.5. And this season is getting worse by the day.

During week 1, the SP/Mage/Aug/Gdrud/HPala comp was only seen in the top +29 keys. But as the weeks go by, you see the same comp dominating in lower and lower keys.

Simply because people start to understand that THAT comp allows you to push with the same level of skill 3, 4 maybe 5 key levels higher.

Its not that those specs are 5% stronger. Together they are 50 or 60% stronger than anything else. So if you were doing 15s before, now you can do 20s with the same level of skill and stress.

And THAT is an issue.

You dont have to. But if you do the dungeons are 50% easier. For example your statement:

That 1 mob at BH… you have to know your routes better. SP can mid-soothe 5 to 6 packs in such a way to open 2 cages before the 1st boss with out having to do the pulls.

That allows you to practically only do 3 packs before the 1st boss. That alone saves you about 7-8 minutes of a BH run. Especially because those pulls are REALLY dangerous and give low %.

So no. SP IS required for 5/8 dungeons. And if you use it correctly it can save you up to 8 minutes in a run with out an SP. That is the difference between wiping 1nce in a dungeon and GQuit cause no chance to time it, or wiping 3 times and timing it anyways. Its a MASSIVE advantage.

Run your own 21 key? Then it’ll be a 22

Or a 20 because one guys play SP ā€œbc it’s metaā€ and don’t know what to do.

I stop M+ for the same reason, you can’t play off meta.

Meh, I think for tanks, Vengeance DH and Blood dk’s can really do the highest keys now too. But as for the rest, melee dps are pretty much not needed now when you have SP’s, fire mages and aug-vokers locked in.

they key in this game is

  • you are living from the government and get money from it without having a job and level every class to max gear so you can switch.
  • or you have so much money that you dont need to work anymore and level every class to have max gear
  • or you are a streamer boy and get so much money from simps that you can live in wow and level every class to max gear
  • or you quit pushing keys

we all now blizzard is not patching their games anymore. maybe once every 2nd month

i only see the mass dispell problem atm in m+. halls of infusion dragons or uldaman is much harder without a priest.

The problem is, this season is already screwed by this.

Even if they fix the comp there will be a long time no new record then

Put a Ukr flag on it that will fix it ahaahaa…

Looks like you don’t play this game. Getting a max level alt takes 2,5 hours and costs 330k gold which is like €17 (token equivalent) to get boosted, a lot less than what blizzard charge for shop boost.
You can do it while being alt tabbed in your computer working in order to press space every 15-20 mins to not get dc. I got 2 chars boosted this way and if someone can’t afford €18 they need a new job.

Then just play 4-5 afternoons like 20-30 17s super fast to get crests. Depends what your goal is. If your goal is only like 3000-3100 its doable at 437-440 ilvl, there are a lot of mages or evokers at that ilvl.
If your goal is to push for 0.1% title you already need a lot of time to do that and gearing an alt is the easiest part.

Meta this season is super rigid, I didn’t even think that it’s possible to break the balance even further. It’s like zero variability in high keys.

I mean, you can still play whatever you want, but the harsh reality is that dru/pala/aug/mage/priest make everything look so much easier. Me and my mates play multiple specs, and most of the time it’s guardian, holypala, unholy dk, frost mage and an enh, and keys above 24 is a real pain in the buns, but when we switch to what most of the wowers play now, those 24+ keys become an easy deal. Like, the difference in comfort is so obvious…

blizzard even can’t fix defile. SP was most popular spec in first season, and in second blizard bring new affixes for meta classes only, like nonmeta didn’t exist at all.

im not t about leveling a char im talking about having every class with 440 item level so you guys can reroll every balance patch. i dont have the time to maintain that so you have money, have no job or you are a streamer is the key to have this playstyle.
other questions is of course why bring a warrior when you can bring a sp that does everything better, is ranged and have utility.
Melee classes provide nothing to the group atm

You don’t need to maintain all characters to 440 because if you are an exceptional player you can reach 3200-3300 with protection warrior that I never had once in my keys this season. You just need your own group. I play keys often with 2 friends of mine and we pug the other 2. This way I can experiment with specs like Mistweaver and holy priest instead of the better specs of my class.

Uda is correct aug evoker can help you play keys 2-3 levels higher due to buffs.

Also melee is kinda bad this season, obviously feral is a bad pick and you should have started as balance If you were to dps, same as I raid windwlaker and I jumped into season 2 day one as brewmaster. Had Mistweaver been better I would start as Mistweaver but it wasn’t.

Season 1 you have almost 200 keys and 0 timed 20s played resto druid which was one of the 2 healers meta. With a decent 2850-2900-2950 score nothing extra carrying on from season 1 you wouldn’t have issue at start. Right now 2500-2600-2700 is nothing of a good score and unless its an alt that is linked to something like 3k main its a skip always when list keys.

Not true. Tanks are in the same boat together with all other specs and healers other than SP Aug Mage and HPala. Technically any tank can do M+. But GDruid has a very specific tool kit that makes dungeons 50% easier with one than with any other class.

And its mainly its party off-healing it does. It has other advantages (super OP CD for big pulls, myriad of stuns/CC, CR, ect…) but as a healer the off-healing I feel much more than any other tank by a mile. It trivializes some bosses that normally would be extremely hard/impossible. Not to mention pulls where with any other tank it would be unhealable but it becomes easy.

I can tell you that having a GDruid tank makes healing any dungeon half as easy. That is the reason why its so much in demand.

Nah, Blood dk is op too cause you don’t need to heal it at all, making you do more damage and spot healing for dps players. Blood dk’s have no issues blasting +28 keys right now.

You are missing the point. Gdru sustains not only himself, but the entire group as well, so you don’t have to

Last week I was sweating like a :pig: on the 2nd boss in Uldaman since the totem dealt so much damage I couldn’t even blink or else someone would die. Then we switched tanks from monk to dru, and I didn’t even feel the totem, like, at all…

Ye… and that is why I see so many blood DK doing 28+… Its not like as if 100% of tanks are GDruids.

Look: I gave you my opinion on tanks as a healer. Ive healed all tanks, from a 15+ to a 25+. And I tell you, ALL tanks except maybe Warrior Tank are OK with Earth Shield and Healing Rain. And the occasional chain heal bounce on him.

The difference between GDruid and ANY other tank (including DK tanks) is that when you look at ā€œhealing doneā€ from a GDruid, 20% (minimum) of all that is to the party, not to himself. ANY other tank heals more or less. But is 99% to himself, not to others.

And I 100% feel that, especially in rot heavy bosses and pulls.

So, while any tank can survive a 28+, the REST of the party is a different story. And GDruid helps on that front while DK tank does not. And that is why there are 0 DK tanks above 25+ keys. And that is #1 reason why GDruid is so meta now.
