It’s not the big own you think it is
You do have to explain, because you’re looking at the top 1%. Even the 80th page still only shows +27s so even if the first 20 pages would show literally the same composition it still wouldn’t mean the game is unbalanced because top players always converge to the meta.
If tomorrow blizz would delete havoc and augmentation, those players wouldn’t evenly spread out among the other classes. They’d all jump to the next in line.
This has not been the case at the start of season 2. It was a pretty even distribution. The poison to this game was augmentation evoker. Augmentation ruined a lot of unique utility identities and defensive things that other classes contributed. If balance is okay, people will play what they’re best at, not what is best.
Another way of looking at it is that it’s the best thing that’s ever happened to this game and we need even more specs that work like it.
(though in raids it might cause a logistic mess to have 5 of such specs).
If something works and is fun, the solution is not to break it and bring it down to the unfun level of the others.
Is it fun and does it work? I think augmentation diminishes the intended difficulty of M+, while also being irreplacable atm for higher keys. It really takes any motivation away from me as a dps to push high, when my only option is to go with a very specific comp that is 20% worse than the best one in terms of output. It’s easy to lean back and say “just add 5 support specs”. That’s an insane thing to ask, and there are only so many support-oriented players around, that aren’t already healing or tanking anyway. Also, because of augmentation players are getting away with just picking the highest output specs and ignoring everything else, because of the survivability it adds to the group.
Nerfing DH is the best thing they can do.
Agreed, I am pretty sure that they will still be one of the strongest classes after the nerfs. <.<
We can’t have season where this stupid class isn’t meta i guess.
