Yeah I’m rather confused with comments about that particular result. It happens anyway, and I’m guessing all in all it’s about as easy and quick to get to a decent starting point for the content someone would be FoTM rerolling for. I have a hard time imagining that would suddenly grow to insane proportions.

It’s not the same and even comparable, lots of jobs also share gear in FF14 so u can’t compare gearing systems. All that change will do is make people who aren’t as fixed on FOTM or who don’t have the time to start fixing on FOTM cuz the barrier for entry will be much, much lower.
And guess what? even in as a result of that system all u see is FOTM when u raid savage or higher. GOLLY GEE I SURE LOVE ONLY SEEING THE SELFISH DPS CLASSES LIKE VIPER AND PICTOMANCER EVERY RAID WITH 20 PEOPLE COMPETING FOR THE SPOT
We already have people moaning cuz they dont get invited to M+ cuz of their class so it would just lead to people playing what is fotm to get an invite.
