Class Flavor / Sub Classes / Class Customizations

So, I watched the Bellular video " Blizz, Revive THIS Abandoned Feature! I Found Evidence…" and waaaaay back i watched the T&E Class Skin video, which got my gears turning.

So, as I’ve mained a huntress since i started playing wow, this is something i think about a lot. I’ve always had dreams of what the hunter class could be, if we could specialize them, here are a few of my ideas:

Also, i feel like this idea maybe can insentivise using different pet families based on your class ‘flavor’,perhaps giving you a little buff for using a theme appropriate pet family. Here are some of mine

Ancestral Ranger - A hunter honoring the spirit beasts and ancestral spirits of Azeroth, like Onara, the Ancient Guardians, the August Celestials, etc. Their quest would take them on a spirtual journey, being taught by the more otherwordly inclined of the world: The Highmountain Tauren, the Maruuk Centaurs, the Druidic Night Elves and more. The quest would culminate with the hunter choosing their spirit that they wish to guide them. Their spells and attacks would involve a ghostly/spiritual blue effect that trails their arrows, traps would be more ritualistic in nature, dire beast and other summoning talents would always summon a spirit, and they would have a bonus using spirit beasts as their pet. These hunters can se things others can’t, and they spend their time upon the earth, respecting and revering the beings that guide them through life. The sounds of their bows would be reminiscent of a zither plucking it’s strings. Quiet, but beautiful and serene. They would be beast mastery hunters, due to the fact that their preferred companion of choice is a spirit beast.

  • Customizations and cosmetics could include: Glowing white/pastel green/blue eyes, glowing/ritualistic tattoos, intricate braiding of both hair and clothes, jewelry with glass pearls and jade pearls. Subdued colors, with the main one being subdued greens and blues. Their aesthetic could be best described with an anime: Musishi. Glowing, ethereal, mystical and otherwordly. They would carry incense and herbs around, both for their healing properties and their rituals. This would be reflected in their armor, carrying satchels with them on their back and waist. They usually carry bells and flutes as well. Their clothes would lean toward the japanese kimonos and the fabrics used are roughspun wools and linens in subdued greys, beiges and sage. They may occasionally also carry a gyosho bako, or peddlers chest on their back. A chest made of wood, carried like a backpack. Their weapon of choice is a longbow made of wood or jade.

Holy Archer - A hunter of a more militarisic nature, the holy archer is a soldier of the light. Worshipping the holy light, the holy archers have a disdain for anything undead, and anything related to the void. These archers do not scout and stalk the woods for furs and pelts, they stand atop their towers, or on the back lines in their pristine white cloaks, shooting down enemies, keeping the men on the front line safe. The Holy Archers whom are undead themselves will struggle the same ways the Holy priests of the Undead do. Feeling the maggots in their mouths squirming, tasting the rotting flesh of their bodies and feeling the pain of their bones pertruding their skin. Their quest would be more of a moral dilemma, showing them what the light requires of them, and how that belief can be twisted, they have to come to terms with their past and present. To wield the light, it is required that the wielder has an intense focus, and unimaginable faith in their belief, thus, they should not be distracted by a companion of any sort, and they tread the lonely path of a Marksmannship hunter. Their spells would be holy based. Simple as that.

  • Customizations and cosmetics could include: This is mostly based on the human version of the Light. Long hairstyles with minimal decorations. Catholic in aesthetic, the clothes, hairstyles and jewelry would be more cleric in nature. Pendants, heavy necklaces and holy books would hang upon their armor. Gold, gems, reds and whites would dominate their armaments and clothes. Inspiration from the Western, christian aesthetics of the medieval era. Perhaps some Scarlet Crusade thrown in for good measure. Their weapon of choice would be an Elaborate crossbow or recurve bow, plated in gold or silver, with some holy scriptures carved onto them.

Titanic Gunner - The titans had technology capable of destroying planets, there is no question a gun wieldin’ hunter wouldn’t die to use some of their magics and technology to enhance their strength. The Titanic Gunners were taught by the remaining constructs of the titans to wield the titans magic, and use their technology to craft their weapons. Their quest would take them, together with Brann, through titan facilities and meeting up with rouge constructs to teach them the secrets of the titans. Their spell effects would be the Gold and Blue magics of the titans and their runes. The Gunners are marksmannsship hunters, as it takes a lot of knowledge and focus to wield titan magic, the Gunners are snipers without companion beasts.

  • Customizations and cosmetics could include: Runes carved into their skin as scars or glowing magics. They would emulate the titans in their warderobe, but with a hunters practicalities. Gone are the white and gold silk gowns and togas, and their armor would be more based on the body of the constructs. Their hair and beards would have golden accessories and be tied up in immaculate braids and buns. Bold gold, silvers and blues would be the primary colors. Their weapon of choice is a Gun imbued with titan artifacts or a gun with a constellation/cosmos aesthetic.

Ritual Poacher - Another ritualistic hunter, but instead of showing reverence to the benevolent spirits guiding them through life, these hunters work to appease the malevolent, hungry and restless wild gods of Azeroth, like Hakkar and G’huun. These hunters work to gather sacrifices for their Deity of choice, and they will stop at nothing to please them. Unbending in their belief, these hunters use hexxes, poisons and voodoo to take down their prey. Their quest will take them through a meeting with their Deity of choice, and doing their bidding until you become their prophet. Their affinity for poisons and their brutality make them perfect for a survival hunter, and their beast of choice would be Blood Beasts or serpents.

  • Customizations and cosmetics could include: Their jewelry consist of engraved wood carvings, and wood hair pins. Browns, beiges, reds and tans will be their colors. Bones, blood, warpaints and bandages. Hair tied up with bones and jewelry made of teeth and bones. Their clothes would be made from skins, leathers and furs. Their weapon of choice is a spear or polearm made with bones, and covered in blood.

Fel Trapper - During the Invasion of the burning legion, these mad hunters decided to learn to wield the powers of their enemies. Learning from their precedents, the warlocks, these hunters wield fel and demon-beasts to eliminate their foes. Their quest would include learning from the demon hunters, warlocks and demons around Azeroth, and Outland, perhaps even aided by the Bronze to go back in time and learn from the great Warlocks of the past. Their exotic choice of companion leads them down the path of a beast mastery hunter.

  • Customizations and cosmetics could include: Y’know. Fel. Greens, purples, reds, blacks. Eyefolds, glowing runes, Burning legion aesthetics. Their weapon of choice is a shortbow with engraved with fel runes.

Blighted Stalker - Imagine this: A hunter stalking beasts of the Azure Span fells a great creature. They skin it’s pelt, and prepare it’s meat, when they notice a teeny tiny… green pustule. They ignore it, and eat the beast. They soon become ill, very ill- but their knowledge and skills after living of the land their enitre life, allows them to survive the illness. However, this comes at a great cost. The hunter has been infected with Decay. Their mind, now riddled with the desire to spread their gift to spread the rot, makes them almost insane, however, they manage to tether on the line of madness just enough to continue living their life. However, they are now a danger to themselves, and all their allies if they can’t keep their rot in check. Their quest would involve going to the Drust for help to quell the madness of the rot, and perhaps even traveling to Thros for aid. Their spells would be either steeped in the green decay magic of dragonflight, or the pale blue magic of the drust. Their pet of choice is one of the undead variety, and they prowl the lands and seas as a brutal survival hunter.

  • Customizations and cosmetics could include: Sickly pale skin, green skin, missing eyes and limbs, pustules and wounds would be their most common traits. Most of those who have lost their limbs have replaced them with spindly branches, fastened by magic, like the drust. Long, unkempt hairs and beards with decaying flowers and herbs in them. Their aesthetic would be either akin to the greens of the Gnolls of the Azure span, or the blues and blacks of the Blighted Drust of Thros. More northern in inspiration, like ritualistic, berserker vikings. Wearing the full furs and skins of their prey. Skulls, thorns, branches, furs and leathers wold be the aesthetics of the Blighted. Their weapon of choice would be anything brutal, spears, polearms and staffs that can poke a hole in someone.

What Class Flavors can you think of that would be cool? What spell effects and customizations could they add?

I love your idea very good and smart, I am going to look the rest of them after doctor
