Hello. Adding some brainstorming I’ve been having about class ideas for anyone who might be interested
As far as things are now there are the regular classes and the Hero (DK, DH) classes. I propose a third kind of class, the Champion classes. How will it work? Once you reach the highest level possible, you might choose to “Champion” your character, instead of choosing a talent specialization. Somehow like a fourth path, one that you won’t be able to switch back from easily though. There would be 10 new classes this way: 5 for the Alliance and 5 for the Horde, each a combination of two existing regular classes.
The ones I thought of were:
Priest of the Moon (Alliance, available for Hunters and Priests): Elune’s priests, now unisex, fervently serving her in her most vengeful, yet just phase. Bows and holy/arcane AoE dps and single target disrupts. Cloth wearers.
Occultist (Alliance, available for Druids and Warlocks): A dark druid! Corrupts life, creates mutations. Powerful self-only healing abilities, MC spell on hunter pets, poison damage and non-controllable mutated minions.
Prophet (Alliance, available for Shamans and Monks): These men and women of old times had predicted much of the events that would befall Azeroth. They are back, having reached the points where their prophecies end, this time to determine the future. Self-healing, protective spells, melee nature/fire dps.
Inquisitor (Alliance, available for Paladins and Mages): A holy damage ranged dps. No healing, but higher protection stats than a mage and lots of armor penetration.
Warden (Alliance, available for Warriors and Rogues): Warrior-Rogue being the only common combination both factions get, the Alliance gets the Warden. We all know them, some love them, some hate them. Melee - based with some medium range ranged attacks. Poisons, traps, and blade slicing.
Blademaster (Horde, available for Warriors and Rogues): Warrior-Rogue being the only common combination both factions get, the Horde gets the Blademaster. You will get to know these folks through Warcraft 3 if you don’t know them already. An iconic choice, blade dancing, limited stealth, and survivability
Dark Ranger (Horde, available for Hunters and Warlocks): People have been asking for this one. A Hunter without a pet and with shadow damage added to attacks.
Witch Doctor (Horde, available for Priests and Shamans): Please
Spellbreaker (Horde, available for Druids and Paladins): An anti-mage! Based on WC3 unit of same name, can control magic. Plays with buffs and debuffs, resists magic damage, causes physical/magic damage.
Battle Mage (Horde, available for Mages and Monks): Leather wearer, arcane/fire damage. Melee with some limited range abilities. Casts orbs and bombs that explode after some time, with different effects.
As for Hero Classes, one I could think off was the Sea Witch. With possible connections to both the Naga and the Kul Tirans/Zandalari, the Sea Witch is another bow (or staff) wielder that utilises a combination of physical and magical damage, along with protective spells. Talents: Stormcaller (Nature DPS), Curator (protective spells and bow), Binder (Arcane DPS, debuffs)
Finally, there are a lot of flaws in what I suggest probably, but I can only hope that they might just give something new to developers and start a discussion with players to see what could be popular
