Am I only one who just thinking mage is far behind from other classes in PvP and in some situations PvE ?
few points to look out for:

Making 2 bottle of water at lvl 40 which refreshing 1992 MANA OVER 30SEC ? Ridicilous … Table would be great atleast everybody could take water. On the other hand its still not worth when players have already 4k mana so they need to sit 3 times to get full

Mana pool for mages in this “style” of the game is somehow unplayable. What am I trying to say is this : Any spec u play in PvP u lose bcs of mana and her cost. For example : u play fire spec. Your cheapest spell is Living flame if we counting runes bcs of SoD but 2nd place got scorch with 100 mana per cast + 1% if is not a crit with burnout = 32x casts with 3200 mana of your character with the 1.5s cast time NOW ! Compare that with Druid. Their wrath its free bcs of the rune and it can proc instant healing after all im not counting with the eclipse which provide more benefits. Next one We have Starsurge which cost 0 mana and its instant cast which can also crit over 1000dmg + hitting enemies in BGs almost half of the map EVEN talented FLAME THROWING 2/2 ( 6y range increased ) cant compared that one or Arctic Reach ( 20% range of frost spells) which with the rune FrostFire Bolt has 45y range. Lets move on a little bit. For some reason lets think people want that so rune called : “hot streak” was added in the game which is great BUT HARDLY LIMITED bcs spell cost is 240 mana per cast ( instant ) + a lot of mana to proc so WOULD BE a great if it get the remake or edited being more playable and usefull after all OR make new passive rune which add more mana regen which would be a masterpiece for all specs…

Runes in SoD for mages looks cool are cool but in the end are not effective except a few ofc ( Living Flame and Regeneration was awesome until nerf) like for other classes.
Lets talk about them shortly :
Hot streak not worth with current mana pool
Living Flame being awesome rune for pve content and mid-range for pvp bcs of cost 187mana per cast
Enlightenment - hard to say 10% at beggining its okay but to be honest to you under 70% with 3 spells and regen is not so good either
BUrnout , FoF, Reg are awesome not gonna lie
Arcane Surge oneshot dream with 3min cd
Icy Veins default rune for frost nothing special also 3min cd only plus its reset with cold snap
Brain Freeze is actually more valuable in PvP and PvE than Spell Power atm
Ice Lance only being good in PvP but everyone still prefer LB
Arcane Blast nothing to say here
Well in the end if somehow blizzard listen and figure out mana problem mage would be fun in PvP
PvP is not fun at all atm
PS: Viper sting takes 700 mana so if u met hunters in BGs just smile on them PEACE

Mages are in an OK spot tbh. The main complaint I have is the mana regen from food.
The damage on mage is really solid in PvP. Yes, it has mana issues, but it takes a good mage to use that mana wisely and spend it accordingly every fight.
The main issues mages have is some things not interacting correctly, other than that, the reason why it feels weak to you is mostly because of other overtuned classes, mostly hunters and druids.
Mages do have problems though regarding the new runes and interactions:
- Fingers of Frost and frostbite share the same proc, meaning they proc at the same time. In PvP, if you have frostbite, FoF becomes almost useless. This allows you to pick up burnout, which is something I dont mind tbh.
- Fingers of frost is bugged when interacting with a few spells. Casting Arcane Missiles with FoF only eats up the entire FoF and only affects the first volley.
- Using an AoE when you have FoF up eats both charges. If you have only one charge, it still counts every target hit as being shattered, so this is just a stupid interaction
-When you have both Brain Freeze and Missile Barrage procced while you have no mana, you cannot cast Arcane missiles first, for some reason it thinks the spell isnt free. You need to fireball first and then arcane missiles becomes free again, which is inefficient.
- Spellfrost bolt is not affected by arctic reach which is really bad.
- Arcane Blast deals too much dmg and warrants a 10% nerf.
- The new heal is good, might be slightly overtuned, but with the way dmg is atm I wouldnt touch it just yet.
- Arcane surge I find to be really stupid. I hate this ability, and its unnecessary. Mages already have PoM arcane power AB/Pyro oneshot combo
- Regeneration needs a huge mana reduction, 50 % at least. Same goes for Mass Regeneration
Thats pretty much it. Overall mage is in a good state. Its just overshadowed by the current FOTM classes.

Stopped reading first post when I read: players have 4k mana, water restores 2k, players have to sit 3 times.

4k mana with a green items without stacking intelect so peps with inteligent IRL will know they going OVER 4K IN P2 in few reset gnoremeregan raids. Im right with sitting atleast 3 times to get full mana when u get mostly BiS gear or if u stack eagle items for PvP as mage for example 
Meanwhile in SM /1 channel:
LF 3 MAGES AOE SPELLCLEAVE
You guys are just fine, i don’t understand how Mages of all classes could feel underpowered
Honestly just try any other DPS class and see what it’s like, you will be back on your mage in 3 minutes
To be fair, being good at 5 man AOE farming is not the same as being good at other pve types such as raids or being fun.
Mages are decent atm but not at the top spot like they are used to being, but i guess as a trade-off, they became healers
Drinking water 80% of the gameplay time is the true classic experience… and you know what? They added a 2min CD spell that remove all your mana at once! great!
Meanwhile balance druids do the same damage keeping the mana and 6sec CD.
BALANCED
Right now, beside AOE farming (which got nerfed), mages is one of the worst classes in PvP and the worst caster in PvE.
I suggest you to respect to druid or rogue as everyone is doing.

Same Spriest now SW:D almost oneshot u but mage need to cast scorch or spam LB to proc hotstreak which DOESNT CRIT LIKE STUPID STARSURGE or SW:D
Im okay keep Starsurge for PvE but some nerfs for PvP must come or its dead… PvE Starsurge for 0 mana 6cd do more than whole casting with fire mage because u lose mana in 10s after fight start compare to another casters like walock who can tap mana for health or Spriest who just use dots and do dmg its hilarious if we was taking in might mage SHOULD TOP DPS IN RAIDS
Mages are fine. 1000 HP free kills that are OOM most of the time.

Well, apperently Mages can be the worst class in the world becuase YoU CaN KiLl 5 MobS aT thE tIme. People cant see beyond that and most of the time havent even played a Mage, little less something else, to compare.
There’s no use.
Pretty sure he would enjoy having a Boomkin with 6 sec CD free of charge nukes, and free wraths, along with Stealth/Armor and better heals. Or a Warlock with Life Drain and Mana Tap, also with a Tank form. Not to mentioned Spriest with Fiend (mana), Dispurge (mana) and more DoTs than Warlocks. Yeah, he will run back to the class that has 1k hp, casts and needs to drink for 4 min =)
Yes. You want far behind, look at DPS shamans.
IDK if u try STV event or PvP in p2 bcs obviously u dont know anything about what am i trying to point to. Nerf classes so they can compare to each other or make some changes for mage class. Its sad when u see #1 mage reroll to hunter in p1 and p2 so something its rly wrong in SoD with it. I will not reroll bcs someone is more powerfull through stupid rune which making PvP unpleasent. STV event runs 5 boomies with starsurge even STV should FFA but groups killing the fun w/e. Blizz say they change or trying tot pretend bgs from premades but still not happening and u facing vs 5 boomies 5 spriest or less

Cloth users in p2 have ~1300 hp unbuffed, if you have the Gnomer set you will be <1000hp. Starsurge crits for 1k, Shadowword Death HITS for 900. Both instant casts.
Sure you can Arcane Surge for the same damage, but then you go oom and it has 2min cd. Also it’s 30y range, compared to Starsurge with 35y. So basically you may die before you get in range of a druid.
Also warriors with warbringer, there is no way to escape them, rogues with shadowstep same(everybody has now more utility expect mage). Combine that with the fact you die in 3s max if any melee is pummeling.
The thing mage was good in classic pvp was control - good luck with that in SoD p2. Sure you now have heal(which nobody asked for), but guess what - it’s 2s cast, and casting in pvp in p2 is BAD. Also if you get interrupted on Chronostatic Preservation you get locked not 1, not in 2 , but in all 3 spell schools - grats.
