Class recommendations?

Hello all! Hope you’re having a fine day or about too!

I resubbed last night to get back into WoW after a lengthy hiatus and was wondering if any of the fine fellow players could recommend me some classes for arena?

It’s been a long time and I only have roughly 2/3 hours a night if I’m lucky so naturally I was debating on a class that hasn’t got a huge skill ceiling etc

As much as I’d love to put the time in to get gud! On a warlock or spriest I fear my arena inexperience and time constraints may not allow me too?

Any recommendations are great! Whatever you think a time constrained noob will benefit the most from really - XD

Thank you all

Hey,

Nowadays solo shuffle is the rated arena mode for casual players, almost nobody (only hardcores) play 2s and 3s.

As for solo shuffle, destro lock is very strong currently. As for melees, DH and Arms Warrior are both very good.

Solo shuffle? I take it this is like a 1v1 sort of deal?

I was hoping to break into some 2’s and 3’s as well!

How’s MM/SV these days? Also do you happen to know how difficult warlock is to pick up?

No, it’s 3v3 where 6 people play 3s between each other in all possible combinations (6 games total). And you do not have to use LFG to find partners, you queue up for it like for non-rated modes.

SV/MM are strong, but harder to play. Same with destro. For new/returning players Arms/Havoc/Ret would be best.

Solo shuffle is where you go if you want to beat your wow addiction.

Don’t be intimidated though, PVP participation is said to be higher than ever (despite the lack of interest for 2s and 3s), although it’s hard to tell as we don’t have the numbers.

Also, Blizzard are doing more, and more frequent, PVP changes than ever before. A lot of people are complaining, as always, but PVP is in a good place in Dragonflight. Gearing for PVP is better than ever, there is constant world PVP too, it’s easy to have alts, etc…

Good luck!

Arms and Unholy are probably the only ones I’ve seen above 1600-1700 rating with a player below honor level 20.

Good to start with if you want rating with minimal effort until you become good enough to roll another spec for the same result.

I mean you rather play meele caster or a healer?

Fistweaver monks: “Yes”

its a combination of all 3 xDDD

Honestly I’m open to most things, I guess versatility is always beneficial in terms of being able to roll DPS or healer ?

In other MMO’s I typically role stuff that has poisons and traps or the ‘darker’ themed things

There are quite a few classes you can play for solo shuffle, but take into mind, that DPS have long queue times!

For Caster you could go for Destro, Demo or Frost Mage. Those are probably the most broken, even though the others are also great.

For Melees Arms, Dh, Assa and WW seems to be the meta right now.

But nothing is as easy and as noob friendly than BM Hunter is. Frost mage is getting close to it thanks to 1 button spam, but still not BM material!

Have fun!

2s and 3s is barely played anymore. If you don’t have already people to play with, you will be frustrated to find some.

One reason why they implemented solo shuffle and why it is so popular!

I tried all classes in PVP except Paladin and Shaman, I assume you are interested in DPS class/spec as the majority of players.
Here are my top 3 classes (fun/strong)
Warlock (Destro is my favorite, all specs feel nice)
Hunter (Right now I feel like, I recommend surv, BM is strong but it’s a super boring playstyle, MM is my second favourite hunter spec but I find hard to survive and deal dmg against mele)
Warrior (Only Arms, strong and fun, has 2 builds (Spear and Bleed build, both are good)

Lock is intriguing me a lot due to the combination of a dot/cast/pet sorta theme across the three specs.

Thinking I’ll give lock a try and see how I find the playstyle, hunter will likely be my second option or rogue? Stealth and poisons sounds fun!

I really recommend you to play hunter, and not listen to people in forum with warlock. Sure, warlock is strong, but especially destro is hard to play due to you having to track all enemy* kicks/cc/defensives, while as a melee or a hunter you only really have to worry about defensives for your dps cooldowns. Also, you kind of avoid the whole mind game of fake casting, you don’t have to do the complicated way of kiting in wow (it’s not how you would expect it work), and the dps rotation itself is probably easier. Monk is considered hard, but I find monk already way easier than warlock. Hunter/assa rogue/warriors/dks/dhs are my personal recommendations. Monk might also be nice, but it has a unique game style with kiting as a melee, and u having to know when exactly to burst, so not really recommended aswell

I was watching some gameplay and yeah

Lock seems tricky but in an interesting way?
Thanks for the info I’m gonna try out some class trials for lock/hunter/assass rogue and figure out what I click with more personally from there!

Very good choice IMO, all 3 of these can be quite strong!

Good luck mate and have fun!
