I used to be a fan of hunters’ Barrage skill for farming low level content with a good AoE. Barrage is gone.
Can you suggest me a new class (other than hunter) with a good AoE (dps is irrelevant here) which would have:
-insta cast
-not too long cooldown
-cast while moving would be nice too
-good range

I like fury warrior for old content as you can run around spamming whirlwind like a psychotic lawmower.
Holy nova on priest is wonderful for this, great for run-spamming! Crap for range tho… I missed that lol.
Is Barrage gone?

It was pretty good for gathering all the mobs for skinning.
Another vote for priest here. Also mage with arcane explosion does the same thing.
Barrage still exists in the Beast Mastery and Marksmanship talent trees.
As for your question:
One spec I would not recommend to farm old content with is Resto Shaman, as they don’t have any ”one spell hits all within range”, except if you spec into the knockback spell, but even then it’s on a 45 sec cooldown. Otherwise you use Chain Lightning which only hits 3 enemies at a time and not exactly ideal to say the least.
mage also has coc, procced blizzard/flame strike etc.
druid’s starfall is also great imo and druids are amazing for farming easy content

No Barrage anymore in the MM tree though.
As a mistweaver monk you can constantly spam Spinning crane kick for aoe damage. Others that also have spammable aoe is fury warrior (whirlwind), priest (holy nova), arcane mage (arcane explosion) and guardian druid (swipe).
These are good if you’re doing legacy content where you’ll one-shot anything.
