Classes for other races :

Hey everyone, can someone explain to me something ?

How come for example Lightforged cannot be shaman ? is it because to their story / light thing since they can be warlocks and DK’s ?

and same For Orc’s or undead to not be Shaman or Druid ?

or like why shaman form is only wolf if it could be also spiritual animal like Wolf, Bear and Eagle - similar to druid but only for purpose of traveling ?

Hunters missing something like fire arrows dot or Arrow tab (like where you have pet or shapeshift forms for druid) with like Fire dot arrow, Barbed for bleed or Poison arrows with types of poison which you could collect herbs for that and use it only if u have those herbs.

No one trained them to be shamans or druids but they were raised as DK and becoming a Warlock is apparently one of the easier things to become.

Because the Eredar that remained with Xe’ra didn’t get a chance to communicate with any elementals and instead fused their bodies with the light to fight the Legion. That was their purpose. Though I suppose now that they’re on Azeroth they have the time to do so yes. Will Blizzard do it? Who knows.

A lot of the allied races should’ve just been cosmetic options.

Don’t try and make lore sense out of class/race combinations.

However long ago, Blizzard decided that Warlocks will be a baseline class for all races, even if it makes absolute 0 sense for some lore wise (ai lightforged Draenei).

I say this as somebody who normally cares about this kind of detail, but if the devs don’t, why should I.

Because they would have to create new totems, druid forms and paladin mounts for them. And that involves work.

The Lightforged can try to be shamans just like they can learn monk arts. The problem with that is that the Light infuses them too deeply to not share some of it even while they try more spiritual practices, and far from all spirits appreciate being manipulated by the Light. Even though it’s not the same as the Shadow, it still can change them, which can well result in hostile response almost as if it was dark shamanism.

Orcs don’t revere the Wild Gods like tauren or trolls do. Their culture’s approach to the nature’s harmony is shamanistic one, and the shapeshifting they sometimes possess comes from the feral spirits instead of nature’s deities (e.g. ghost wolf). As of the undead, it’s because they are undead. Should they try it, it would instantly fall into decay-based dark shamanism or druidic practices similar to the Drust… and both are close enough to ecological calamities to warrant only immediate execution.

Thank Blizzard kindly for that. To compensate for that RP-wise you can use the Night Fae toy to assume the spirit beast shape of your choice, assuming the character has unlocked it in the covenant.

It’s probably too much work. Druid must have the work of 5 classes due to the forums and extra spec.

I’d like more customisation for existing races/classes.

I just agree with some of you saying that it is too much work for blizzard, in the end they are not hardworking until game loosing players or when players are unhappy (even then the fixes can be unpolished or very crude)

I think for quite few races of horde and alliance druid thing should be now after so many years having allied raced - normal and thought by other races to them same for shamanism.

in the end since evokers can be dragon kin/ dragons only - they could team magical classes 1 or 2 spells from their fan of abilities.

but its blizzard all about money and not to perform hard work i guess

Chasing power and being corrupted by it ? Anybody can do that. Devoting yourself to the light or elements is a bit harder hence more limited.

We’re talking niche cases like Light Forged Draenei.

In theory, they shouldn’t even be shadow priests.

Earthen in theory have never even come in touch with fel. The Dracthyr are meant to be something like “felologist” that are studying the fel as a weapon. I guess Neltharion would have been aware of the Fel because he was there during the first invasion, but it still sounds a tad odd.

Warrior, hunter, rogue, are the only 3 classes that don’t really affiliate to any of the major forces of the cosmology chart, a religion or some sort of major school of magic.

That’s the context by which I see this question.

I don’t think it is too much work. It is just as much work as everything else is. I assume features and activities keep most of the playerbase here not new class/race combos so they focus on that instead.

true but we wouldn’t know for 100% until we were working for blizz lol

It’s another lore-breaking event since fel wasn’t known to Azeroth before the War of the Ancients, which happened long after the dracthyr were put to stasis. But apparently blizz didn’t think it through deeply enough to make sense.

it’s because blizzard can’t earn money from that. they did promise bringing all classes to all races and they were doing fine but at some point during dragonflight they announced that they’re puttting that on hold for now.

my theory is that it requires so much work(Especially the classes left like shaman paladin requiring extra effort) and they can’t earn any money from that or market it as a big feature.

it’s just a minor update for so many players.

the rest is about the lore and idk the details. but stuff like LF shaman will happen one day

You’re not wrong. Lore wise undead should only be able to be shadow priests but game mechanics trump lore

Game devs will tell you that animations is one, if not the hardest element of game design. By that token, the hardest class to give to every race will be demon hunters, as they even run differently whilst in combat.

Shamans and druids just need some custom assets, which aren’t as much of a hassle. Paladins basically just need a mount, which will be reusing existing assets, so quite time saving.

That’s basically the argument behind many odd things in the game. Imagine if we didn’t have resurrection spells because they’re meant to be near impossible to cast.

I believe the biggest issue would be druids for all the forms to make, paladins just need new “racial holy horse” and Shamans need new totems + glyph for racial Wolves/raptors.

lightforged warlock is very no no for me because i dont think it fit lore at all thats like mixing light and fell - why not make light and fell using priest something like “fire and ice mage” lol

NIGHT ELF PALADIN.

I think it is a bit odd that drathyr can’t be druids or shamans.

It’s not odd. The only example of dragonkin wielding the elements in the shaman-esque way are the Primalists and the protodragons they worship, basically the kinds the dracthyr were created to fight. Resorting to such measures would mean not only stepping away from the Aspects, but from their very nature. As of the druids, dragonkin and faith almost don’t come together. If for a mortal treating a Wild God as a deity is a norm because of outright different levels of existence, a dragonkin would see in them someone not above the Aspects, their own progenitors. And the question is, why prostrate before your leader’s peers if your own blood already granted you powers of similar, if not greater potency, including the mastery of the Emerald Dream?
