Classic Automatic Character Migration Undo?

I unsubbed from WoW about 2 years ago, prior to TBC Classic coming online. I had a number of characters on I believe Dragonfang.

The reason I believe this this because it said in the realm selection window “Characters: 2”, but when I clicked on the realm, there was nothing there.

I then log into what is now WOTLK Classic, and find my characters on Nethergrade Keep.

I understand from my Googling that characters have been moved realms to try and consolidated the player base, that’s fair enough. However automatically moving characters to different game seems wrong.

I cannot find a way to undo this, and move my character back to WoW Classic. Is this the case?

What happened is this:

If you had a character Clone on Classic and you did not choose an option between staying on Classic or going to TBC, the default will be TBC which is now Wrath.

This cannot be undone and all clones have been destroyed by now. No transferring between progression era’s is possible.

Thanks for the information. By “Character clone” do you mean that they created a clone of my character on TBC server. Then after an amount of time, they deleted the original character and kept the clone?

Here’s more explanation about what the WoW clone did:
