This issue appears to only affect Classic. I can log into retail just fine.

In my case it’s trying to allocate 12gb of memory. I have a feeling it’s just continually asking for more. You wouldn’t think a multi-million dollar company could ship a memory leak that consistently happens on 100% of machines within 5 seconds of application start, but oh well, i guess tests are expensive…?

Looks like they are aware of the problem now and are working on it, but what that means in time i have no clue.
New patch just got pushed to fix this issue - Restart Bnet or Check for Updates

As stated, please Check for Updates using the cogwheel icon in the Bnet app. If the problem persists, restart your Bnet app and Repair the game client.
