Classic is way too easy compared to Vanilla

I know very well the story of the lost databases, what an indie company!!! … and you trust what they say?:upside_down_face::smile::upside_down_face::smile: kek buhuahuahahahahuauhauhauhauhauhauahuahuahuahuahauhauhuhauhauah

When a game needs addons to be played, it means that the devs did not do their job.

Lol @ all the people acting like the game was never easy, and claiming 1.12 is what made it easy.

It was always easy.

Maybe AQ40 and Naxx will prove challenging, but the rest is really, really easy by modern WoW standards. – dungeon and raid standards.

Levelling outdoors feels identical to how I remember it.

Yeah dude, cuz spamming frost bolt is like rly rly hard. Those dumb players from 15 years ago were incapable of doing that. The game must be easier now because you are such a l33t pro now, definitely not because it’s the nerfed pre-expansion patch.

Imo, does seem a little easier from what I remember in Vanilla, I played from 2004, on a Orc Warrior, named Blobehead, I died a lot more back then, and had to worry a LOT more about open world pvp.

-PvP aint too much of an issue atm (But there is no honour atm)
-Mobs do seem a little easier to kill, & food and drink does not seem AS useful (however in classic I rolled a priest, over a warrior)
-I do feel that general knowledge of the game, and games of this genre, definitely does play a SMALL role in as to why we’re finding this game easier (But definitely the 1.12, nerfs, with 1.00 content, plays a bigger role)
-Additionally, back then I was 5 years old, and playing solo, it took me 4 years to reach level 55 (In wotlk, so i found the game hard all throughout my experience, even after 1.12)
-It’s not THAT much different still pretty much the same game, we all have better pc’s, less FPS lag, better net (less lag), EVERYONE is using addons, when back in the day, I didn’t have the option to use questie (despite the fact I’m not using it anyway) , or (keybinds) and was mouseclicking as well as clicking mobs to target them. (Not only addons, but I also didn’t know about macros, which I now have setup to suit my playstyle, and yeah, I actually understand what each stat does now properly, where as before I was almost clueless, and just thought STRENGTH! OP!, STAMINA! OP!, AGILITY! OP!, without properly, understanding my talent build, roles, what stats are needed for what.

  • I’m also using a talent build guide from WoWhead, rather then picking random talents, from random talent trees, because I thought they was… well… cool!

I’m gonna reroll a warrior, once my priest hit’s 60, and will see what I think of the warrior gameplay, from what I can remember.

1.12 was the “catch up” patch just before TBC launch. World elites were nerfed into the ground so they could be soloable by new players and dungeon/raid elites too so people could get geared for Naxxramas way faster.
Blizz released Classic with the “catch up mechanics” of a 2 year old vanilla WoW.
That’s the bottom line. It was really lazy and amateurish of them.

Can you link me the patch notes that say this?

This is so right. I remember back in late Vanilla, brand new to tanking, arrving in a dungeon a group waitong for me. I said: I don’t know anything about this dungeon, please piont me the rigth way. They inspected me, Healer said: Well, you’re dressed in almost all mail, you have a sword and a shield. Lask tank knew all about the dungeon, but was in underwear and a 2hander. You’ll do better. I did - with heavy help form this nice group.

And yes I’m no better now thean in 2006. I still keyboard run as if I use the mouse, I look into the sky or the floor. I have no addons, and the grand total of one combat macro. My mouse is of the supermarket variety, and my fps still drops so low that I see ppl’s mount without them in the saddle when they summon. Add to this my age, my eyes getting worse, reflexes slower.
I find Classic easier than both the Demo and the stress tests. This I find strange.

The people claiming that “players are just way better now” crack me up. You should see some of the players I end up grouped with.

They lost nothing they are lazy and try to save money.

Lmao nobody remembers vanilla perfectly, it was 10+ years ago. You can’t possibly remember it perfectly. Most people don’t remember key life events in perfect clarity from 10 years ago. You can’t reasonably expect people to believe you remember a video game and every single nuance about it in perfect clarity.

And what I said?.. you trust them? kek … sarcasm mode off

OP you might wanna try a Dark Souls series no deathrun if you’re into hardcore stuff.
You seem kinky

Ye… because the game difficulty is defined by some random open world mobs which had little to not use in the game…

The quest “hubs” you’re refering to aren’t new, aside from the Sillithus one (which still isn’t unlocked in classic).

In 2005 I played a female night elf hunter, and I often wore cloth dresses because they looked better on a female character.
When I went inside an inn before loging out, I always hit /sleep on a bed, I thought this way I got more rested bonus.
While leveling I attacked horde characters, even wayy waaay above me, I thought it’s gotta be some kind of different than skull mobs. Than they just one shot me and laughed.
While leveling a mage, I feared that the frost spells I cast, will dismiss the fire spells I casted and vice versa.
I searched through the whole world for a dragon I could tame as a hunter pet.
I really hoped that mounted combat will be a thing, and than I was really pissed that it didn’t.
I was also pissed that gnomes and dwars don’t run slower, because they have shorter legs.
When I got the philosophers stone in alchemy, I thought it’s gonna make me immortal, but it just did some stupid transformation of rocks with a one day cooldown.
I could go on forever with this. … So that’s why vanilla was way harder.

The only addon I need to play this game, is one for removing the Loot all mail button, and this is not even a Vanilla feature as far as I know.

So you’re happy being… just worse… because… who knows?

The only way you’re being special by not using addons, is in the same way you’re getting to ride on the special buss.

Nope, it’s just the way I roll. I never used addons, so I want to protest the statement that you HAVE to use addons to play Classic. Which I falsfy by not having to.
What is the special bus?
And worse … worsre than what? Worse than you, I am most assuredly. I’m old, slow, hard of vision and hearing. But you know what; I have fun.

You don’t have to, you are just advised to do so where it allows you to get the information the game provides, just in a less practically useful way.

Nor do they take away fun. I mean, what’s the fun in having to drop every piece of gear around when you need to switch gear setups?
