I just recovered my character but I cant rename my character when choosing a expansion?
anything I can do to activate my lvl 37 human lock I recovered?

when I rename a character its grey

Name change is not available for the Classic realms including TBC.

I think you got it wrong

  1. I restored a lvl 37 human lock using Character restore
  2. Clicked play tbc
  3. Accept all grey when I try rename my restored character

You can’t rename your character when choosing the expansion, you do however have to type your character name in to confirm your choice of either TBC or Classic Era. I think that’s where you are getting mixed up.

It’s not a rename box, it’s like typing “delete” when you delete a character.

Ah you see, then Dottie’s post was right.

It’s not a rename option. You are asked to type in the exact character name to confirm your expansion choice. So that means if I had a character named Saneko, choosing to go TBC I will have to type in Saneko.

You cannot choose a different name.
