The timewalking event has been around for quite the while now giving us access to, bc, wrath, cata, panda and wod dungeons and most recently raids. But I’ve always wondered why no classic wow dungeons or raids?
Surely it’s do able is there a reason why blizz have never implemented it?.
Think they’ve said that classic timewalking won’t happen because it doesn’t present much of a challenge to anyone, considering how highly skilled players are today compared to 13 years ago.
Personally I’d love classic timewalking, it is a special feeling to be 40 people in a raid, something you rarely experience today other than in Alterac Valley and Isle of Conquest.
The reason they gave is because If you want to play classic dungeons then you now have classic the game .I try and find the Q and A or blizzcon answer they gave for you .
Honestly, with the implementation of level scaling and mythic+, they should consider moving away from Time Walking and instead give us Mythic+ for every dungeon in game. Just Rotate the expansions on like a weekly basis.
Whats stopping you just levelling a new character and getting into the dungeons. I know they are not Classic but the scaling still makes them interesting. Dungeons at that level pop very quickly so you would be flying through them almost one after the other.
To be honest having done Classic and the revamped versions, they really are pretty tedious. But then when you run through all the dungeons, they really do get to be a bit of a drag.
Old Hiilsbrad and Culling of Stratholm are the two most similar to Classic that I run and I seriously hate both. Mostly cus the minute you get in everyone just leaves, I even got kicked once for refusing to group for another dungeon cus nobody wanted to do Arthas again.
If I was to rate a good dungeon it would always be a TBC or Lich dungeon.
Heroic Deadmines and Shadowfang Keep came in with cata alongside a couple more revamps .But if they were to do Classic TW I would hope they would bring back the classic versions of those dungeons .
P.S good to see you on forums Alewín again don’t let classic steal you !!
Actually it wouldnt be a bad idea to a have another Timewalking week with level some level 1-60 dungeons that have been revamped in Cataclysm to have the contrast between both version. For example an Original Classic Timewalking and next TW event for Cataclysm Classic Timewalking, so in the first even it will have the original DeadMines and the second event will have Heroic DeadMines from Cataclysm
I think there is a very simple technical reason - there is no level 60 version of classic dungeons.
Which also explains how could we have it - adding a rescaled version of them to 60.
But I find it kinda pointless. I just ran a bit of Draenor timewalking on Sunday, and it was such a different experience from actually playing during WoD. Massive pulls (and several wipes), totally different classes… it was kind of challenging but it certainly wasn’t enjoyable.
Another reason I’m not sure it’s going to happen - there are already too many timewalking events. The rotation is how long - a quarter? Half a year? Figured I’d need a certain item to kill Viscidus, it’s Pandaria timewalking (vendor item, but the vendor isn’t there)…
Classic… eh. I tried. I wanted to get into it, I wanted to do the old raids and stuff. But then it took 3 days to level from 18 to 20 and I realised it’s literally Jan/Feb next year before I can do that, if I hit the levelling as much as I can. I don’t got that kind of time now
