My stuffs alliance pov because im a one trick pony
Draenei and jewelcrafting are the obvious, lore wise youd wanna go pala or priest, but I’m a hunter lover :'D
I have skinning and leatherworking on my worgen, both for the op skinning speed and I just like the ~aesthetic~. A lot of people argue that nelves are the only “real” druids but I love worg druids, although otherwise i’d say marksman, warrior, rogue or something.
From an RP pov, engineering would be best on a gnome or mechagnome ofc, but could also make a lot of sense on a human or a dwarf imo. Or Blacksmithing is pretty much the same just switched around; makes the most sense on humans and dwarves, but also lightforged! and arguably draenei, but could also make sense with gnomes and mechagnomes. For RP id probably use a warrior for it, buuuut i don’t like warriors, so maybe even a death knight or something? but death knight lore is a nightmare so idk how you’d even justify one having a profession other than killing stuff xD
For herbalism, nelfs, humans, dwarves, kul tirans…pandaren and i’d even argue worgen, for their ties to basic druidism and crop growing. Although I feel a nelf druid is the most common herbalism combo. I have a pandaren with herbalism/inscription, as shes a lorewalker and does a lot of writing. It’s a really nice rp/profession combo imo! I’ve heard of people giving DHs inscription too, because of the runes. It also works really nicely for warlocks!
Tailoring could work with most races, id only struggle to come up with something for velfs and mechas, but honestly, all races need clothes, it’s pretty universal. For classes I’d say mages as a side hobby, or priests perhaps. Or you could have a warlock with tailoring and inscription that inscribes her clothes or something?? Idk, clutching at straws here xD
As for servers, my experience is Ravenholdt and Argentdawn, and their respective merges. Ravenholdt is MUCH quieter, but the RPers ive met are lovely, and if you get into the small community, it can be really good. Argentdawn is much busier, but goldshire is a sin hole, and theres a good chunk of rp guild drama. But if you get into the right place it can also be nice, you just have to avoid a lot.
Also remember, you don’t HAVE to play as the class you pick: I have a frost DK draenei, who IC is a frost battle mage. I have a marksman hunter worg, who ic is a rogue/marksman combo under SI:7. And you can add onto classes; My fire mage uses a bow to channel her spells because she doesnt have the focus to do it accurately without a medium, I have a tween nelf “druid” who really only knows how to use her cat form, and has only managed to stop herself from becoming completely feral because she lives alone in the forest without the stresses of normal life. Only just manages, though.
It really depends on how seriously you take RP. Most people will agree that “hurr durr im arthas’ grandaughter anduin is my husband and im the queen of azeroth and know every class” is awful and ridiculous outside of sarcasm, but you can choose to join VERY strict guilds that will police peoples classes and choices, (who would scoff at half my characters xD ) which is good if you want a very strict lore experience, or you can join the more creative ones, that as long as it’s believable and makes a little sense, you can branch out with, add some extra flair.
