This whines will never end…
NO!!! SOD is about WPVP; a cloak of shadow would allow to restealth a rogue even with dots, so it would be unkillable in the open world and could safely get out of the most fights.
You were stunlocked for 90% of your health, and now you have a split second to save yourself? No, cloak of shadow, and it is over; you won’t do ****.
You miraculously catch the rogue in stealth with AOE or something and now mark him or dot him. Too bad, cloak of shadow. Don’t worry; he will return when CD is ready again.
This doesn’t belong to SOD.
The only comprimise i could see is a “soft” version of cloak of shadows.
Take 75% less dot damage and immune to spells for 5 seconds. Dots are still there, doesn’t remove them.
That is the problem; we are speaking about WPVP, and rogues will always attack when that CD will be rdy, it will be hard to survive a rogue ambush even without cloak of shadow. And he would get another 5 sec free dmging. Caster would not have a chance.
SoD should be PVE only! SoD should focus on premade PVP! SoD should be all about duels! No, SoD is about WPVP!
Sure looks like people want different things from this game.
Leave it to a priest to make no sense at all. How do you even get stunlocked to death with dispersion? if you fear the rogue once your can 1shot him with mindblast+death.
Thanks for the useless comment. This would be a problem in 3/4 instances you wrote and can be even in PVE (it can ignore some mechanichs as a tank).
And yeah, I didn’t see any new instances (just rework) or BG yet, but we have two new WPVP events and runes that make you travel around the world. Forced balance, etc. So yeah, WPVP is the main thing here.
But as I said, that doesn’t mean it wouldn’t cause a huge problem in different parts of the game. But WPVP would be the worst.
And shadowpriest melting anyone in sight including rogue’s isn’t a problem? Just disperse and let the dots keep melting away unchallenged. Ofc not since you probably play that.
If you lose against SP as a rogue with opener, you are simply trash and got clowned on. Blind and Gauge exist for a reason, use it.
The only exception are troll SPs with Shadowguard.
Priest can’t cast in dispersion, can’t remove dots/marks with it, cant restealh because of it, can’t continue dmging after stun lock for another 5 seconds with spell immunity because of it, etc.
If you think the priest is OP, sure. Advocate for nerfs or something (I don’t play priest this time; I have just LVL 1). But don’t try to make one class unkillable for most other classes. Try to bring something else. And Spriest has been melting since vanilla in 1v1, so nothing new here.
You’re welcome. The point being that you have people saying all those things, based only on what they themselves like or dislike. So who’s right and who’s wrong? None are, there is no objective right or wrong, it’s all subjective opinion. The best Blizzard can do is attempt to cater to all of them, which inevitably will make everyone seethe due to one reason or another.
This is solved by removing priest dispersion, not the other way around.
Rogues have always been too powerful in PvP, they still are, you just feel weaker because everyone else got a bit stronger.
Everyone can do whatever they want; if someone will only collect companions, and it will be the main game for him, I have no problem with that. But you cannot ignore that vanilla, especially SOD, is made so that the world is huge part (I would say the main) where you will be. Not like in the world of instancecraft as was WOTLK. And people will naturally kill each other. And if you make one class that can bully others without chance to punishment you will destroy it.
But I get your point; don’t worry, and you are right. I was a little exaggerating about WPVP. But you cannot deny that devs are focusing on it more than ever. More than on anything else. So being in the world is main thing now.
