Cloak Rank 7 as VDH

Hey fellow Demon Hunters,

I just upgraded my cloak to level 6 while skilled as Havoc in horrific visions.
I needed to clear one extra room for this and am pretty sure for rank 7, I need to clear 2 rooms. One small room and one big room.

Since I’m just ilvl 335ish I thought it’s safer to just go Vengeance, because I’m basically immortal in such environment.
Mobs don’t hit too hard in horrific visions and I have last resort skilled if I mess up you know.

Will I be able to make it in time with spirit bomb or may I have too little damage, especially for the extra bosses?

Note that I only have 3 sanity bubbles and not the extra life skill yet.

I’m in a similar dilemma at the moment. I play vengeance, but wondering whether to go havoc for visions for the extra dps. When I meet other DHs in the world, stuff dies much faster for them than for me.

Stick to havoc will need the damage at that ilvl.

I find dps specs work better in visions.

On monk I almost screwed it up as tank, however as dps I had no issues whatsoever.

You don’t need a big room for R7, the 2 small ones are good enough.

Health shouldnt be an issue with a demonic build havoc. Your main issue will be sanity, and extra dps will help with that much more than extra mitigation. You dont need a lost zone, or even the last boss, just 2 corrupted zones should be fine. Worst case scenario, you can do 2 runs clearing 1 corrupted zone. Personally, I was pretty comfortable clearing 2 corrupted zones and the last boss, but my ilevels a little higher.

The tip I always give everyone; Take purification protocol (r3 ideally). The damage is nice vs abberations and it also stuns them for 3 seconds. On top of that you can annihilate them, which oddly triggers quite often outside of dungeons.

Ilvl is certainly an issue, but like others said, Havoc just performs so much better when it comes to the Visions - especially due to double laser. (Triple if you went with Focusing Iris or purification).

Key is generally not about the damage or healing, but addressing the sanity drain at the right time. Not sure about how gung ho one in, but even as a Vengeance Main, I run it as Havoc regardless of my azerite. And the only problems i’ve come across was not setting the Sanity Orbs at the right moment to recharge.

Blizzard has made it easier for healers and tanks to clear the visions.

Ok but it is worth it? Because Vengeance DH with gluttony build have really low dmg. It’s even worth it try HV as tank in that point?

I would choose havoc every time brother. I haven’t tried vengeance in the visions but I suspect that the dmg output is low and it would bore me to death to crawl through the instance. :expressionless:

Well, before this changes i can tell you - it’s not worth it at all.
But now i think im gonna give it a try when new lvl of cloak unlock but i will take spirit bomb build maybe and we will see what happen.

Did a full clear as vengeance, if you feel comfortable doing it then go.
Tho I have a good situation with gear and corrupted pieces (used Ra-Den fist weapon aswel)

I had 300 sanity left when I got to Alleria after clearing the other areas.

Did today 2 masks 5 areas run. In the end i left 1 extra sphere to use. Used raden haste trinke and fom mechagon cyclotron. Keep in mind night elfs! shadowmeld badly helps. At rexar just run directly to him and meld. Also u can jump out and meld at any point of fight. Enemy mobs stuck in fights with npc’s so their hp doesnt reset.

Yep. I did today couple of runs to upgrade cloak and it’s finally worth it.
