I keep thinking how cloth gear doesn’t often look like cloth gear. I’m not a game designer but would it be so hard to have gear like some of the npc’s in game, like Occuleth? Cloth gear with shoulders that look clothy and not always robes that are painted to our legs. Legion kinda had gear in this theme but it still had the heavy armour look. I think it’s shoulders for me, like why do they always need to look like they’re made of toilet plumbing?

What about mail wich actually looks like chainmail? The only thing we got ingame like that is a trash item wich you can’t use as a tmog. Mail items are generally far worse designed than cloth. Besides if you are being practical, cloth shoulder pads won’t exactly provide any defence so they just end up looking silly on casters anyway. Regardless of them looking like cloth

The only clothy looking shoulders I’ve seen are so tribal in theme that they fit a druid or a warrior better, honestly. Even Aurora Mantle, my current, would be some painted metal whatnot resting on my shoulder in real life, maybe plastic.
Nevermind, wanted to be an iron maiden anyway… 
Best stick to hiding the slot… it’s my bane every time I put a new set together, honestly.

Same here, most shoulder pads look pretty terrible. No matter what armor category
Oh man, Mail wearers have it hard in this game. Most Mail sets look absolutely trash!
Admittedly I do like both Mail Warfront sets from BFA (Elite versions), but there not really much else you’ll catch me wearing as a Shammy or a Hunter.
See, I don’t mind what they do with the armour so much, aslong as it aesthetically fits the class that it is intended for.
I’ve also noticed that a lot of players have a thing against shoulders. I see a lot of leather wearers not using them.
For me BIG shoulders are an aesthetic of World of Warcraft as a game. I remember when I was new to the game, and standing in Stormwind (yes I was an alliance fool once), and seeing a Level 60 in full raid Gear, with these cool looking shoulders. So when the Cloth shoulders dropped in Wailing Caverns, I just saw Shoulders and rolled Need on them and Won them on my Rogue… I was so happy, I finally had shoulders!.

i remember when bfa leaks were coming out there were some models for some pretty nice looking leather coats. But for some reason they never added it to be worn by players, I think a hunter wearing a long coat would look pretty neat. Sure its leather but its not like mail armor actually looks like mail anyway,
Sadly mail wearers can’t get any good designs. I think blizz hates mail wearers
I mean, what’s to say that the Leather isn’t just the outer layer of the chainmail jacket.
Yep but since they didnt make it avaible for players during bfa when some npcs did have them i doubt they will make such good mogs avaible later on. And if they do its probably going to be some recruit a friend or 6 month sub reward or in the ingame store. The same thing happened when backpacks got introduced and the best looking mogs are always behind some paywall.
Well it’s a Pay 2 Win game nowadays unfortunately.
