for me the raidbot sims put them bellow 369 rings

I do not know, but I redid it and this time it say that I can put a cobalt ring in place of my second best ring for 1% more dps.
So I guess this 389 ring was a bit better than the old 382 ring.

Raidbots at least sims the proc too. Cause Pawn definitely does not look at the proc.

I believe that one of the wins in Dragonflight is that higher ilvl items are much more likely to be upgrades

I’d rather say it’s a shame it’s so hard to get them in the first place. By the time you have enough reputation to buy them, you already have better gear from doing other activities…

Stupidly grinding mobs for 2 hours gives you about 800 rep, if you instead invest the amount of time needed to reach max rep into running other content, you’re already fully geared in higher ilvl gear. Sometimes I really wonder who designes rep rewards/farming…

well i farmed the ring like first week of the expansion
it didn’t take long

but true now with all the available options i think people will skip the grind if it’s really that painful now.

At which point I’m so into the game, that I completely forget about the sim until about 5 hours later.

I guess it depends in the end on what spec you are using it on.

On Brewmaster spec the ring does between 250k-550k damage over a 4-5 minute time period. For a DPS spec you likely outgrow that damage proc with the secondary stats relatively soon.

For tanks though it is a lot of additional damage that you will not make up from secondaries alone.

I think it took me around 4 to 6 hours to get to the rank required for the rings from the previous rank, and unless you have easy access to 400+ itemlevel rings you aren’t going to drop that ring anytime soon (I did the grind after the nerf).

My spec bis stats are haste/mastery and my high versa/low haste pvp ring already simming significantly better at 405 ilvl than cobalt.

These talks about S2 gear etc are just BS. Sim yourself. Higher ilvl ring give way! more stats than cobalt.
