C.O.D scam - why no gold info?

Yesterday I received a pet in mail stating C.O.D on the icon.
I don’t know the player, so it looked like a scam.

However, in the mail there is no info about C.O.D charges.

To test, I transferred all my gold except 150g to my bank alt and then clicked on the pet…

WoW message was : “You do not have enough money to pay the C.O.D” charges.

But but but, what if I had my gold ? 10K, 100K, 1M ?

  1. Why aren’t the C.O.D charges clearly stated in the mail itself, or in an annex or whatever.

Bad coding, and if you’re read daily mail in bulk like I do, it’s easy to be scammed and suddenly pay a fortune. It should not be that easy.

  1. Btw, there’s not also an easy chance to click on the Sender scammer and report.

First person ive seen complain about this feature thats been around since forever.

I’m pretty sure last time I bought something COD I was asked if I want to pay the amount before confirming it.

Hey Magnetica,

I just tried this in-game, as there is indeed a confirmation box asking you to click Yes/No to accept to pay X amount of gold for the item in your mailbox, when it’s COD. If you do not get this message on your end, please do check your addons, remove them, or reset your UI completely.

Concerning scammers trying to send COD items, you can report them directly from the game, from your mailbox, and we will make sure that they are actioned accordingly.
