Collections: "You have unopened item in collection" -- but there isnt any

Even since I added the Blizzard Authenticator to my account, I’ve experienced an Interface problem.

Every time I log in to any character, there is a popup claiming that “You have an unopened item in your collection”. However, when I go in there, it offers no prompt further, no ping, no item to click.

It has nothing to do with my settings or addons: I recently installed WoW on my Study PC that has never had any games nor addons installed – and guess who’s back. Yep, that bug.

I’ve no idea how I can disable it, and it is very annoying and distracting. Has anyone had the same problem or any solution how to fix it?

Could it be because Authenticator Rewards include a Core Hound pup, yet that pet is nowhere to be seen in the Battle Pet Interface? Not among collected or uncollected.

That is certainly odd - the message shouldn’t ever appear unless there actually is something still “gift-wrapped” in your collection. My best guess is that this is indeed the result of the corehound puppy awaiting delivery, and that your display filter selection in the menu currently excludes it from being displayed (and thus being unwrapped).

You’ll want to check the filters, and make sure all sources of pets are enabled. More likely than not, you’ll then soon see something bouncy and clickable in the list.

That was indeed been the issue. I had left the filters on years ago, as I do not interact with the pet system much. The popup should cease to appear now. This topic can be marked resolved.
