Why is there a time limit for when can you use a collector’s edition key? I recently saw that I am not able to get Blizzard account balance upon my Dragonflight collector’s edition key use.
I waited purely for my sub to run out, as I am in a predicament with money and thought to use my Dragonflight CE key to get some Blizzard balance.
I saw on the Q&A page that the last day when you could use it was 31st of Dec. 23.
Yeah, my bad I missed it and there’s no going back, but why do they impose this limit?
Is it regarding the resell value of CE’s on the aftermarket? Why? CE’s are still holding tight on the price, even with used codes. It seems fair that you should be able to use your code even if you cash out on a sealed CE, no?
I also have my BfA and SL codes still valid, I guess they will just be there forever with no added value.
Honestly, it’s a shame how they gutted the CE’s over recent years (no physical soundtrack, codes expiring, no BTS, etc.)
As someone who had no money for CE’s back in the day and recently got them on aftermarket I feel sorry for anyone trying to get into WoW collecting nowdays. Inflated prices and little to no value as they are clearly moving towards digital future. Blizzard’s CE’s were a highlight for most of the fanbase, I am glad I have some of them.
