Until this day, and long after untill blizzard reintroduce combat rogue back into the game.
I still miss the opertunitey wanting to play the combat rogue instead of outlaw rogue.
Sure you can play combat rogue in classic.
But why not in retail wow.
Both sub rogue and assassin rogue doesnt really replace that option ofcourse.
There is not even, a no rolle the bones build for outlaw rogues. So you can entirely skip it.
Why not add combat as rogue specialization?
Like druid have 4 to choose why not same for rogue.
Why ever did blizz or actiblizz go for pirate theme rogue?
It would have bin better to add a whole new race as pirate class and spec. Frankly i dont see the point as to why a rogue must be a pirate.
I still read that many players still wish back the good old combat rogue. And Yes me to.
I for one completely was upset when they changed my combat rogue to a outlaw rogue.
Somtimes you think blizzards or whatever likes to annoy players or hope that by doing that players whould play another class and spec.
Thought this complaint or attention to. Ill still play wow. Even do they manage to screw up more than just my topic here.
But these developers could listen or pick it up. But they dont listen or read players i guess.
Ill always have hope they bring back Combat rogue into retail

What makes combat more appealing to you than outlaw? Or rather what is it that they changed (besides the spec fantasy and RTB) that you dont like?
Personally I prefer outlaw to combat, never really liked the combat insight rolling buff.
I do dislike RTB being on the GCD and I do have various gripes with the spec itself, but I cannot say it is worse than combat imo.
I decided to play a stealthy ninja… then blizzard decided its a pirate now.
I hate the lore, the opitcs with the pirate gun, the shooting is also ridiculous imho.
A pirate is not a ninja and doesnt sneak in the shadows like that… it misses the point of being a Rogue in WoW… at least for me it does.
Combat was never a ninja, that’s always been Subtlety.
Outlaw is Combat but with pirate theme on top of it, and Combat was a basically a weaker and squishier Warrior with Stealth.

I mean if you squint your eyes really hard, outlaw is basically combat.
I just hate, that they implemented roll the bones tbh…
If you ignore RtB, BtE, Pistol Shot and Grappling Hook then yes its pretty much the same.
(Except that they removed Death from Above, i liked it back when we still had it…)
DFA was a class wide talent, not combat. And even then its so watered down in pvp its not really worth using in most situations unless you need to stick to your target and know it will be hard too and in PVE if you could use it, 10%~ is basically nothing
Yes, and it had a really cool animation in my opinion. I would rather have DFA than Killingspree, where you die because of the uncontrolled movement…
It was pirate themed in Legion but after that it has lost almost everything that made it stereotypical movie pirate. Now its resembles more Han shot after Greedo version of smugler than it does a pirate to me.
