Common Places for Rogues to hang out?

I have been roleplaying for about a year on this character (and in general), and throughout that year I haven’t seen many rogue hubs, let it be Ratchet, Booty Bay or even the Order Hall. I have been to all those places during both peak and off peak RP times, but all I could find is an occasional hermit orc or blood elves ERPing.

Are there any rogue hangout spots? Maybe I was unlucky and just happened to be in an empty phase at all those times? The Rogue Discord does have the occasional pirate meeting event, but it’s mostly not relevant to this character.

Your local alleyway.

Not a rogue hub per se, but I’ve seen hives mingle among the Valley of Honor peeps and do business, but also in the Drag.

Unfortunately, I fear the rogue community will have to build a hub for all rogues. Personally I’d love to use the manor more but if you have a great idea I will definitely help you drum up some rogues to establish a hub with. Could be a weekly tavern hangout if that seems easier to do. I’m sure that if we look hard enough we could even find a bartender.

Try Stormwind’s Old Town! If you manage to RP here without getting killed, that means you’re a sneaky enough rogue candidate and can stick to the character.

Ravenholdt Manor is good but the thing is, only associates or members of either the Uncrowned/Assassins League can really have an IC reason of being there.

I mean if there is even a bit of a public announcement about casual rp in the manor, and have one or two rogues there regularly, maybe more people would come up for poison or contract rp. Are there any other guilds using the manor as a hub at the moment?

Assassins Order is using it. No idea why tho. However they’re a dead guild really.

The gallows.

AO hasn’t used it for the better part of 3 years now. They’re dead and buried by this point.

Use the Manor if it’s free, I say. It’d be nice to see some rogueish characters around.

Agree! I miss the old get-togethers.

I say make the Manor an afk spot for now, so it looks populated, and then more people will come to rp. Heh

I remember I tried organizing an event during Legion… ehehe. It did kind of suck, admittedly, because at the time I lacked any and all experience. Also it was during BlizzCon, so the amount of people was very small, which was also a mistake on my part.

Still, I support anywhom who wants for rogues to have more edgy discussions. Although, I’d like to see the Hall of Shadows used, rather than the Ravenholdt Manor, because it looks badass. Although IIRC there’s no info on current Dalaran’s location…?

Rogue RP is probably one of the hardest to pindown. Many communities begin to flourish due to shared motivations hence the unity, for example Paladins and the Light, Hunters and (their hunting?). So the status of Rogue RP in comparison is extremely mixed, many have extremely different perceptions and each will vary in tone greatly. I for one cannot speak for the Horde, though I can summarise the ‘Wogue RP sCeENe’ on Alliance and to why I think that it’s very difficult to get a community going from it.

A proportion of Alliance Rogue RPers seem to only identify the class as being that of low-life criminals that sit around in old town all day, that’s perfectly fine, but it’s the characters themselves which are the problem - they’re seemingly low-life criminals with ‘master swordsmanship training’ and ‘arrogance/stubbornness levels: 100’, overall when these rogues commit their first crime - they get caught, the worse part about it is they refuse to acc…- right back on topic, I think that if you can pull a state of unity for Rogues, it’ll be able to happen though Roleplaying hubs come far later in the expansion/in the communities development. My tip would be to get something revolving around espionage (1 event per month) in which Horde Rogues are sent off to a specific location to spy on the Alliance. Overall a community will soon flourish if there’s some form of unity and maybe later down the expansion you’ll be in a strong position to set up a rogue RP hub.

A burning question I do have is; If this indeed becomes a thing and Rogues find a place to chill, is it going to be mixed factions or will it be “Alliance Rogues get place A and Horde get place B”? I get the whole theme of the current expansion is red vs blue, but it’d make for more diverse and interesting RP. Moreso now than ever with communities and cross-RP addons.

Well, I would say all rogues, as there are a couple of intra-faction rogue organisations in WoW lore, such as The Uncrowned and The Ravenholdt. Let it be the HoS or The Manor, however current Dalaran location is unknown, so The Manor is the only real choice. Booty Bay and Ratchet could also be used, but instead of casual rogue RP, they could be used for meeting purposes, such as monetary exchange or regarding a future contract, etc. With other non-rogue or non-affiliated persons.

They meet only in realm of stealth and appear only if someone is going to die from bleeding, poisons, thousand cuts or stunlocked until dead by laughing. Depended on spec.
