Communication from Blizzard

For the first time in YEARS i’ve stopped my subscription.

Dont think i am the only one, but the lack of communication from blizzard regarding what will happen after MOP (yes i understand they want to wait for blizzcon) is piss poor for the community.

It would been very easy for them to schedule 1 event (like state of azeroth) where they give some info regarding what will happen to prog servers.

then they can use blizzcon (2 months away) to announce the big things, like Project Camelot (classic +).

We are many resets into SOO and the raiding scene is starting to dropp players, atleast on alliance side, with guilds struggeling to get players.

This is just my personal opinion, but i do feel we as players deserve some form of communication!

Its not just MoP. They need to announce the future for Anniversary as well.

There is literally ZERO gain from gating this information behind BlizzCon. BlizzCon is for the big new announcements, new games, new expansion. Its not for the future of re-re-relased content.

Players want to know what Era options will exist for them from the servers we have. Some players will want to know if its going to WoD or some retail migration option.

About the only thing worth logging into atm is maybe SoD, just to mess about while waiting for some info.

I don’t even care about communication in general. Just don’t delay the announcement of the next expansion. If people believe there is a realistic chance it stops in a few months, they will start leaving en masse because nobody wants to invest in a character that will be effectively dead soon. Just announce the thing so that people stay.

If they do not intend to release WoD at all, then they should have announced that too. You might say it cannot be done cause people would leave then, and you might be right short-term. But this is actually a bad long-term strategy because then your playerbase will learn that you cannot be trusted, that Blizzard can terminate anything without due warning. People will be very cautious and unwilling to commit to any given expansion or project due to the uncertainty and the previous experience of characters effectively being deleted unexpectedly

Agree on that

They wont announce wod yet. Beacuse people would just stop playing if they announced wod now.

There is nothing major to announce in regards of progressive Classic rn. EVEN if there was some kind of Warlords of Dreanor Classic (highly doubt), we wouldn’t see it this year. ICC Classic went for 10 months.

wouldn’t it be more the other way around? More People would come in to get ready for it? Sure maybe not everyone would so and so some Heroic Raiding right away but i doubt many would just stop because of the announcement.

Idk i think some people would quit beacuse they dont want to play or continue to wod.

And some would just stop raiding beacuse they feel getting gear is useless when you get better gear soon anyways if wod is around the corner.

There will definitely be a WoD classic, it’s an easy money grabbing machine. Old code still with the same issues so we can see they don’t do any changes to it. Also, they don’t follow the vanilla timeline since then you had A LOT more players so you could stretch it out which is not the case with classic as it’s easier for people to stop playing the game after a few months.

But isn’t that the definition of WoW? There is always better gear coming your way, wether it’s a new expansion or a new patch/raid. It’s a rinse and repeat type of game. And honestly while I understand what you are saying, most people that say they “don’t want MOP or don’t want WOD” end up playing the game anyway.

Then why play anything? The next Raid is always coming with better Gear

Nothing is definitive considering we still don’t even have announcement.

It’s really not. You have to actively develop WoD and they are expecting a very, very low population. Classic versions are not simply “lets run old code in new hardware, oh it works, here guys have fun”.

Makes no sense what you just wrote?

I said

Notice how it says Classic.

I had 2 suscriptions non stop since 31st of March 2021 to play Classic. Right now second account sub is cancelled a d the reasons I stated to support were radio silence about future of Classic and under delivery in Retail with poor quality of mid patches content and no playable Amani among other reasons. The other account in renewed with 6m sub till February 2027.

We are 5 days away from Gamescon and I am looking foward for Blizzard coming to their sences and at least announcing the future of Classic (2019-2026) and continuation of Anniversary there. These two are not Blizzcon kind of sensations to hold for them for 23 days, meanwhile the situation in MoP is becoming self furfilling prophecy for WoD future. Blizzard just let two raid tiers to be released with bugs, their QA was never so low to non existing. If they are going to continue such careless approach in C+ their new product will be short lived.

People would stop playing if WoD wouldn’t be announced as well or if MoP would be said to go to Era or simple shut down with 7y characters going to Retail. Announcing WoD and Legion confirmation is the best case here. However I got feeling Classic would be killed for Classic+/project Camelot to take off.

Yeah it’s crazy that they think news about these currently active servers is something for hype and needs gating.

There are people, guilds and communities in these servers, some built up over more than a half decade of game time.

And they don’t have the respect to tell these people what the future is, it’s disgusting customer service.

Communication is golden is what i always say. If you don’t communicate, you’ll alienate yourself from the one or ones you should deliver a msg to. If some guildmember f/i doesn’t tell their guild they’re going on a vacation for a month but doesn’t communicate this to their guildmaster in some way, they’re gonna find themselves removed from the guild after in most cases.

So now we have Blizzard leaving us in the dark about WoD, with that they’re killing MoP AND my guild currently. Ppl leaving, ppl not coming online anymore, almost no ppl to recruit anymore.

What should i do, i have a few members still coming online but it’s really like only a few. Some told us they went to check out retail, so i kinda opened up my guild in retail for them.

Currently i’m kinda split, should i quit MoP and go retail? Someone gave me a free trial for FFXIV, nice game, fresh to me, if i buy that game, Blizzard will have lost me for an unknown amount of time. I’ve uninstalled SoD a version i had a lot of fun with, i stopped the sub of my 2nd account and i’ve uninstalled TBC anniversary. Are they deliberately killing the classic servers? I don’t know but what they’re doing atm isn’t healthy and them with their wisdom they think they have more than we do, should’ve known that their silence will kill their bonds to their customers.

On the 13th of this month (August) i played this game for 20 years, most of that time in retail until the first classic arrived in 2019.

Just my 2 cents.

Maybe they want the franchise to end.
