Community! We need to talk about boosting

Guys, gals, let’s be honest. It is not normal or healthy for the game to have 50-100 people constantly spamming the trade chat with WTS BOOST to various things. In fact it’s ridiculous. You can’t use the trade chat for anything else because of this, it’s basically like an unmoderated twitch chat.

Also think about it, this thing with selling boosts, is frankly anti gameplay. This should 100 % be against TOS. I don’t know what you think about it but take the opportunity to voice your opinion. Please tell Blizzard what you think about this. Either here on the forums or in game following the steps below.

Using the in-game “Submit Feedback” option that is found on the Help menu.

  1. Press the Esc key to open the Game Menu, and click Support.
  2. Click Submit feedback or bug report.
  3. Click Submit a suggestion.
  4. Follow the guidelines on the submission form, and enter your suggestion.
  5. Click Submit.

If the game requires “Progression” in order to clear as in the content is not extremly easy.

Then i am all in favor of any kind of boosts.

The content is there in order to provide you with gear and power, If it’s has elements too it that just takes up a lot of time then it’s simply a nuisance.

I’m in favor of all ways to remove or reduce nuisance elements in the game.

So if i were to use the feedback function, i’d tell them to add RnG boxes (to simulate boss drop rates) in the store, But not just have raid & M+ gear in there, Put mats and stuff as well and it’s random what you get.

Rather than do that, why not consider why people would rather pay others to play the game for them than play it themselves?

Trying to squash supply will never ever work. Look to why the demand is there.

Where does this information come from?

That’s why the chat channel “Trade (Services)” exists. Boost selling there is totally allowed and encouraged by Blizzard.

Posting Boost selling however in regular trade chat is (afaik) against the CoC. You should report that. Alongside every “WTS M+ Key run” in the Dungeon Group Finder section and same for raids.

It is only allowed in that very specific “Trade (Services)” channel.

So if i want certain item only from the last HC boss and i only focus on m+ because i like that gameplay more and it’s not demanding too much of my time.
Should not be able to let some guild that LOOOOOOVES doing raids kill that boss for me for a certain amount of gold?..
Why would i spend my time finding a guild that is able to kill that boss and then FARM it so i can obtain that item.

I did my share of raiding in BFA and i can tell you it was a nightmare when it comes to TIME managing and then being disappointed because 3 people out of 20 didn’t show up. You know suddenly something 1 hour before raid happend to them all the time
No thank you i rather buy a boost

The content is easy. Don’t worry.

Then I read the rest of your post… .:astonished:

You are playing the wrong game my friend.

is where it comes from now i’m not saying the president of blizzard can’t sell runs or be involved in the selling of services for his guild i’m just saying as long as the top management of blizzard encourages boosting which is generally supported by $$$ in the form of tokens why do you expect blizz to crack down on it

Interesting, thanks for sharing the Tweet.
Well, that’s unfortunate.

However, Blizzard overall have made a lot of great decisions regarding the game’s direction in this expansion.
You can even progress with the expansion’s factions through PvP! At a very slow pace, sure, but it’s still huge considering this has never been possible for the past 18 years of the game’s existence.

So, I’ll stay hopeful. One man’s mistakes may not ruin the whole game for all of us, or at least so I hope.

hello
LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING.
50% OF WOW PLAYERS ARE WOW PLAYER.
AND THE OTHER 50% ARE BOOSTERS AND GOLD SELLERS.
EEVERY SINGLE HUMAN IN EARTH THAT IS SPAMMING AND BOOSTING ALL THE DAY LONG IS DOING IT FOR REAL MONEY.
EVEN BLIZZARD CANT STOP THEM.
I KNOW PEOPLE WHO SOLD 250 MILLION GOLD JUST IN SHADOWLANDS AND THEY DID EVERY SINGLE THING AGAINTS TOS AND I REPORTED THEM WITH EVERY PROOF IN YOUR MIND BUT EVEN RIGHT NOw THEY ARE USING BOTS WITH MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS IN SKINNING HYPERSPAWNS.

They profit from it. By selling tokens. From the value of tokens you can for example buy boost. Either way whichever you do - you are a booster or you are a buyer - Blizzard profits form it.
Ending in game boosts means not the stop of boosting, people will do it anyway, they just going to do it not for gold but for real money outside of legal sites and ways. And then Blizzard will lose value of the tokens. And part of its profit. In - Game Boosting never going to stop, mate.

To be fair if we do the maths it’s less time consuming to just pay the boost than to play the game.

As the Goblins say:
“Time is money friend”.

Some people probably prefer to spend that time being productive and earning money than grinding in a game.

For example WoW subscription is around 14.99$. I know some people prefer to grind gold and pay with Token.
However in my case that’s 2 hours of work in my company.
In this case paying with RL money comes cheaper. Paying 6 months subscription, comes even cheaper.

I would never buy a boost.
If I can’t earn it in game than I would rather not have it.
Unfortunately nothing can be done regarding other players. It’s their money and they chose how to spend it

Cheers.

As far as gold boosting goes why doesn’t Blizz make an order interface?

You’d apply for a boost and lock in the gold (held until the job has been completed) and time/date, then a seller comes along and offers the boost, allowing Blizz the ability to see the run was completed and no scam happened.

They need to do more to prevent scams.

Yeah, I agree on that.

Edit: damn that like restrictions.
5 hours cool down
