But no transmog.
This happened on my level 51 demon hunter Aerween-Magtheridon.
Received the achievement just fine but no transmog.

Disappearing transmogs is a known thing, if you had bothered to read other threads before posting.
Ok, I don’t know why the rude tone but it didn’t disappear because I never received it. After completing the challenge I was ported outside, achievement popped -A Towering Success- but no actual transmog was added to my character’s transmog collection.

I forgot to mention in my first post, I did the tanking challenge and as you can see in the first ss I used a wowhead script to determine if it counts as done and in the second screenshot you can see I got the achievement on my demon hunter.

We’ve had some sparse reports of this happening, mostly due to being dead while the encounter completes or leaving the instance early. In my experience you don’t get ported out when it’s completed, so you may have accidentally pressed a “leave group” macro which some people use to avoid repair costs due to a failed attempt. That’s not your fault however and if the achievement popped you should be eligible for its reward. Our developers are currently investigating per the related support article but I’m afraid the Support Team doesn’t have a manual solution to provide due to the mechanics involved in granting the set. My apologies for the inconvenience caused :(.
Dottie, while we always appreciate the help from our community on these forums, the transmog issues you’re referring to currently only seem to affect digital shop and promotional transmog sets which are issued through a special granting system on our end. “Regular” transmog unlocks via item gains or in-game accomplishments like the Mage Tower aren’t affected by this issue.
I died after the fight and it kicked me out. Achievement popped. I most definitively did not click leave group. Nor do I have an addon/weakaura/macro that does that sort of thing for me.
Is this getting resolved? Can we still get the appearance after? Or are you telling me I have to just try again and hope it doesnt bug out this time?
The linked article (updated 2 days ago) says you should make a bug report. I’m guessing they need these from everyone who had the problem to work out how to fix it.
Since that is the first time I have seen that information I will note it for next time. It’s also the first time I have seen that it’s shop transmog items only that are disappearing, but some have said that others are intermittent too, ones that are not shop related but ones granted by Blizzcon tickets too, which I suppose are technically shop bought.
Yeah same, I died, Velen and the nelf finished the fight, Kruul did his exploding RP and then I got ported out and got the achievement.
Edit: Since then I have completed the Havoc challenge too and received my transmog.
However, it would be nice for this to be solved for other people still stuck without their set.

You didnt get the tanking appearence and suddenly got it when you finished the havoc challenge? Did you do the Kruul one the same character?
Yep.
I did vengeance’s challenge a few days ago on my demon hunter, got the achievement and today I did havoc’s challenge (on the same dh) and it awarded me the transmog.
I also got the mount and the vdh challenge is the only tanking one I did so I guess it 100% counts as completed but just the awarding of the mog is bugged.
I did the same on my GDruid today. Also bugged. Lets see if ticket works.
I did get achievement and he was dead.
