Completing Legion order hall mission (mage) does not give credit towards the class quest Following In His Footsteps

Hi,

I have this issues with the mage campaign in Legion order hall questline. When im completing the order hall mission for the quest Following In His Footsteps (ID: 42424) it does not give quest credit.

I have now completed it multiple times and still no quest credit. I have abandoned the quest - retaken it - tried again but still no credit when completing it, even with more than 100% success rate. From here the cycle just continues. I think I’ve done the mission 4-5 times at this point.

I found an old forum post with a similar problem, however, my quest is not divided up in X/5 but just the one quest according to the quest log while that person had a problem with the last step.

I also sent a bug report, but as one doesn’t get any notice if it’s changed and GM’s usually don’t interfere with in game matters via tickets I’m a bit unsure of what to do.

Any ideas?

As always for any quest query like this, start with the name and realm of your Mage, so we can look up its progress.

What do you get when you type the command

/run print(C_QuestLog.IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(42424))

OK, but despite the Usual Suspects, I really do think that this is simpler, that you have misunderstood something.

The quest requires you to complete FIVE missions, one after the other, each of which takes one hour. Here they are:

The first is

You need to complete the first one. Then the second will apear.

The second is

You may need to open up the Mission Board again after completing the first one, or even give it a couple of minutes or log out before the second one appears.

Just keep completing each as it appears.

Hey!

Mage name is Maelastra on Silvermoon. When running the quest script it says false, so I take it the quest isn’t completed. It would make sense that it’s the five quests needed, but I could not be sure as it didn’t say in the quest log. I just recently did other class quests from the order hall where all the 5 missions needed where listed as sub sections of the quest itself.

OK, well try again, and see if the second Mission appears after you complete the first.

Now The Scholar’s of Tel’anor showed up on the mission board. But i must have done more than 5 missions at this point. I have no means of seeing if i actually am making progress on this quest or if im in an endless loop, haha

The quest is not to do 5 missions.

The quest is to so those specific 5 missions in order.

Just keep track of which missions you have donw.

Oh… okay. I could not find any information saying that. Isn’t the quests showing up in order in the mission board? Could it be that i have more than one mission towards the quest and I need to know which to complete?

You have five Missions you need to do for the quest.

I have linked them above.

All of them start with “Arch,age Vargoth’s Travels”.

All of them will show on the mission board with a Quest mark.
